The role

Our engineers rely on a strong, reliable, and scalable platform to build and run their work efficiently. We need a Platform Product Manager to help evolve developer experience at Prolific. You won’t be short of things to do—you’ll need an understanding of developer engagement and enablement, a strong grasp of cloud platform providers, a passion for experimentation, and a deep appreciation for security and compliance. Most of all, you’ll be focused on ensuring Prolific teams can deliver high-quality products at scale—easily, quickly, and seamlessly—while meeting the highest standards for performance and compliance. You’ll work closely with our Cloud Platform, Developer Experience, Site Reliability and TechOps teams to align platform capabilities with Prolific’s business strategy This is a fantastic opportunity to take the lead on critical Platform initiatives and help shape the technical foundation that underpins all of Prolific.

What you’ll bring to the role

• You’ve led empowered, multi-disciplinary teams as a Product Manager or Senior Product Manager in fast-growing startups or businesses (ideally in a Platform/DevOps space).
• You have a strong analytical mindset, with an obsessive focus on data and a willingness to use rapid experimentation to achieve valuable outcomes.
• You’re a trusted partner to engineers, invested in the health, quality, and operations of our platform and its codebase.
• You're familiar with Kubernetes orchestration and Infrastructure as Code principles, helping teams build scalable, resilient systems.
• You have a solid understanding of major cloud platform providers, ideally through hands-on experience.
• You are always ready to roll up your sleeves.
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can be relied upon to keep your collaborators feeling involved and empowered.
• You appreciate the importance of security and compliance frameworks (ISO-27001, SOC2, Cyber Essentials) and can balance these requirements with developer experience.
• You demonstrate reliability, grit, diplomacy, care, a bias for action, and a focus on value.
• You express “strong opinions, weakly held”, adapting your perspective when presented with new evidence.
• You are—or would love to become—a powerful storyteller.

What you’ll be doing in the role

• You’ll help us apply a Product mindset to Platform Engineering, contributing to the future vision of our platform and defining team priorities aligned to company strategy.
• You’ll test, learn, and iterate rapidly within a continuous discovery and delivery cycle.
• You’ll draw on data, and our mission and strategy to identify and deliver high-value improvements for our users.
• You’ll speak constantly with Prolific’s engineers and teams, learning about their needs, pain points, and ‘aha’ moments to ensure our platform is as valuable as possible.
• You'll translate complex technical concepts into clear value initiatives that resonate with both engineers and stakeholders.
• You'll map and analyse the developer journey at Prolific, identifying friction points that slow down delivery or impact quality.
• You’ll collaborate in a flat environment with all teams at Prolific, as well as with technology partners beyond. You’ll work closely with our executive team and engineers, ensuring they are deeply invested throughout the entire process of product discovery and delivery.
