Job Description

Retail Activity & Sequencing Lead - 12 months FTC

Hybrid (2 days in the office – Tuesday + 1 more day) | Support Office & Pet Care Centres

At Pets, there's always something exciting happening across our stores. New initiatives, colleague activity, customer campaigns, operational improvements and business change all need to land at the right time, in the right way and that's where this role comes in.

We're looking for a Retail Activity & Sequencing Lead to bring structure, visibility and balance to the flow of activity across our Pet Care Centre estate. You'll be at the heart of cross-functional planning, helping ensure stores can focus on delivering brilliant experiences for customers and colleagues without being overwhelmed by competing priorities.

About the role

This is a highly collaborative role where you'll work across the business to create a clear and joined-up view of everything landing in stores.

From commercial initiatives and colleague programmes to operational changes and digital projects, you'll bring together multiple plans into one cohesive activity roadmap, helping the business make informed decisions about sequencing, priorities and capacity.

You'll identify potential clashes before they happen, influence stakeholders to simplify or re-prioritise activity where needed and help ensure new initiatives are practical, well-planned and ready for successful delivery.

You'll also play a key role in governance, trials and launch planning, using store feedback and performance data to continually improve how activity lands across the estate.

What you'll be doing

  • Owning and maintaining the single view of activity across our Pet Care Centre estate
  • Bringing together plans from multiple functions including Retail, Commercial, People, Digital and Change teams
  • Creating clear visibility of upcoming activity and identifying risks, dependencies and workload pressures
  • Facilitating planning and governance forums with stakeholders across the business
  • Supporting activity prioritisation and sequencing decisions that make life easier for stores
  • Leading the governance of trials, pilots and major rollouts
  • Using insight, feedback and performance data to drive continuous improvement
  • Building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels to achieve the best outcome for customers, colleagues and stores.

What we're looking for

You'll be a highly organised planner with experience operating in a fast-paced retail or multi-site environment. You'll enjoy connecting the dots across different teams, balancing competing priorities and turning complex information into clear, practical plans.

You'll bring:

  • Experience in retail operations, activity planning or a similar business-wide planning role
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • The ability to challenge constructively and make balanced decisions
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously
  • A data-led approach to decision making
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • A passion for creating better experiences for both colleagues and customers.

Why Pets?

We're a business built around caring for pets, people and the communities we're part of. Join us and you'll have the opportunity to work with passionate teams across the business, influence how activity is delivered across our stores, and play a key role in helping our colleagues focus on what matters most: delivering great care for pets and the people who love them.

If you thrive on bringing order to complexity, building strong partnerships and making a real impact across a national retail operation, we'd love to hear from you.

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
