Job Description

What do we do?

Paddle offers digital product companies a completely different approach to their payment infrastructure. Instead of assembling and maintaining a complex stack of payments-related apps and services, we’re a Merchant of Record for our customers. That means we take away 100% of the pain of payment fragmentation. It’s faster, safer, cheaper, and, above all, way better.

We’re backed by investors including KKR, FTV Capital, Kindred, Notion, and 83North and serve over 5000 software sellers in 245 territories globally.

The Role:

As IT Manager, you will oversee and manage IT operations, systems, and infrastructure, acting as the connection between technology strategies and the broader goals of Paddle. You will ensure the efficient and secure operation of IT resources.

Your responsibilities will include strategic planning, team leadership, budget management, project oversight, and IT system security.

What you'll do:

  • Strategic Planning and Alignment:

    • Identify the organisation’s technology needs by collaborating with department heads to understand their requirements.

    • Create a technology roadmap that outlines the strategic direction for IT initiatives, aligning with Paddle's growth plans.

    • Evaluate hardware and software options, considering cost, compatibility, and support, and make recommendations to senior management. Specifically, you will be working within a MacBook-only hardware environment.

  • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Supervise the IT team, assigning tasks, setting priorities, and overseeing daily operations.

    • Invest in the professional growth of team members by identifying training opportunities and skill-building activities.

  • Budgeting and Resource Management:

    • Manage the IT budget and allocate resources for various projects and operational needs.

    • Evaluate costs and seek opportunities to optimise spending, including renegotiating vendor contracts.

  • Project Management:

    • Manage the entire project lifecycle, defining scopes, creating project plans, and allocating resources.

    • Regularly monitor progress, track budgets, and communicate with stakeholders.

  • IT Operations and Support:

    • Oversee daily maintenance and troubleshooting of IT systems, ensuring timely response and issue resolution.

    • Set and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for IT support to maintain high service availability.

    • Manage Okta IAM to ensure secure and efficient identity and access management.

  • Security and Risk Management:

    • Implement and manage security measures to protect IT systems and data, including establishing security policies and monitoring for potential threats.

    • Perform regular risk assessments and implement disaster recovery plans.

  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

    • Maintain relationships with technology vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and reviewing performance.

    • Collaborate with department heads and senior management, gathering feedback to align IT strategies with business needs.

We'd love to hear from you if you are:

  • Technically Proficient: With exceptional skills in infrastructure and systems management, and a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles.

  • Experienced with Apple Ecosystems: You should have in-depth knowledge of MacOS, and Apple hardware, ideally with experience of managing these in a corporate environment.

  • Knowledgeable in IAM Principles: You will have practical experience of managing an Identity Access Management system, ideally Okta.

  • A Strong Leader: Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and emotional intelligence.

  • An Excellent Communicator: With clear and practical communication skills.

  • Experienced in IT Operations: Monitoring system performance, managing system updates, and enforcing IT policies.

  • Adept at Problem-Solving: With strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
