This is a part-time (3 days per week), 6 month fixed-term contract with a start date in December.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join Team NOTHS!
This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance all-rounder: someone with financial accounting skills but also commercial awareness and influencing skills who can be a strong business partner to the people team. Not just that, you’ll make a difference within a fast-paced and entrepreneurial business, in a broad & cross-functional role, driving clear improvements in compliance and reporting requirements.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll be the go-to person for all things relating to compliance, including Insurance, VAT and Corporation tax. A high impact role, you’ll play a key part in team & leadership decision making. You’ll be a business partner to the People Team, supporting them with monthly processes as well as reporting, guidance & ad hoc requests.

Accountabilities

You’ll be working in the Core Finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance, within the Finance department under the leadership of the CFO. You’ll also be working closely with the People, Legal and Tech teams.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
Compliance manager

  • Maintaining relationship with Insurers
  • Work closely with internal legal team in renewing company insurance policies
  • Ownership of the annual corporation tax return
  • Responsible for VAT compliance
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with our external corporation tax advisors
  • Leading any HMRC enquiries/audits
  • Maintain risk registers
  • Support Research and Development tax claim
  • Support UK DAC 7 reporting
  • Other matters relating to compliance/tax that may arise

Finance business partner - People teamBe the focal point for interaction between Finance and the People team, building strong working relationships with relevant senior management providing them with robust & insightful analysis, including:

  • Monthly payroll checks and processing in financial system
  • Budgets and forecasts
  • Variance analysis
  • Preparation of Webcap journal
  • Ad hoc support

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare consolidated Financial Statements
  • Prepare TopCo Financial Statements
  • Support Core Finance team in annual audit and preparation of statutory accounts
  • Ad hoc projects as they arise

Some key skills and experience you’ll need...

Technical skills:

  • Experience preparing and reviewing VAT returns is preferable
  • Experience handling VAT queries is preferable
  • You will be qualified with a recognised accountancy body (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and will have experience in a relevant Finance role in industry
  • Advanced Excel ability is favourable
  • You’ll be highly numerate with a strong attention to detail

Human skills:

  • Enthusiastic, organised, self-motivated & curious are qualities you pride yourself on
  • Excellent communication skills will be key, as well as developing & maintaining good working relationships with colleagues
  • Good stakeholder management skills
