The Role

Are you obsessed about creating captivating content that stands out in the digital landscape? We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Content Creator to join our team at Not On The High Street. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing, designing, writing and creating engaging content across our owned channels. Your role will primarily focus on social; creating content for platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube to bring to life the story of our marketplace and the small brands and their products that we sell on it. From time to time, you may also get involved in content creation for email/CRM, site, app and PR too.

We’re looking for someone who has fantastic experience of getting under the skin of customers/followers and understanding the types of social media they engage with, what trends they are tapped into and how to create conversation and community with them.

You’ll be brimming with creative ideas and capable of taking strategic direction, turning it into a plan of scheduled content and taking it all the way through to execution of conceptual ideas. You’ll have a portfolio of creative content work for a range of similar UK brands which you’re proud to show off. You’ll also have proven experience in analysing and understanding the performance of your content; identifying how it can be optimised for future content and constantly with your eye on data-driven results.

Accountabilities

  • Innovative Content Ideation: Develop and pitch creative content ideas that drive engagement and elevate brand storytelling. Experiment with innovative techniques, always with a focus on what works best for each platform’s unique audience.
  • Trend Monitoring: Keep a close eye on the latest social media trends, tools, and content formats to ensure our brand remains relevant and competitive. Be open to experimenting with new formats and techniques to keep our content fresh and engaging.
  • Content Development & Execution: Create high-quality, engaging social media content that is tailored to the unique demands of each platform, including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Pinterest. This role involves everything from planning and capturing captivating photos and videos to producing visually appealing graphics that connect with specific audiences. Occasionally, you may also create content from your own home, utilising a self-set studio setup. We’re also looking for someone who has copywriting abilities too and can craft playful captions, hashtags and copy to maximise their visual content. Adapt content to match the tone, style, and format of each social media platform, ensuring it resonates with diverse audience segments. Experiment with different types of content, from short-form Reels and TikToks to more immersive formats like Instagram Stories and long-form YouTube videos. Ensure that all content is visually cohesive, adheres to brand guidelines, and aligns with the distinct style required by each platform.
  • Performance Analysis: Track and analyse the performance of content across all platforms, using insights to inform future strategies and creative content. Provide recommendations for optimization to ensure continuous improvement and maximise engagement and reach.
  • Social Media Management: Plan, create, and schedule content across platforms including Pinterest, Meta (Facebook & Instagram), YouTube, and TikTok, ensuring it resonates with target audiences and aligns to wider marketing calendar plans and campaign launches.
  • Community management: Light community management across social platforms when content is engaged with to help develop and foster a connection and relationship with our customers and small business community.
  • Collaborative Projects: Work closely with the creative and marketing teams to refine and execute content strategies that align with brand goals. Collaborate on cross-functional projects to create cohesive and impactful storytelling that enhances overall marketing efforts. Help wider marketing team channel owners to create content for their channels when needed (email/CRM, site/app, PR).
  • Partner Collaboration: Work closely with our partners to maximise their exposure across our social channels. Support the PR & Social Manager in developing content strategies that highlight partnerships and collaborations, ensuring they are seamlessly integrated into our overall brand narrative. Help partners to create compelling and engaging content that we can reuse for our own platforms.

Some key skills and experience you’ll need...

Technical skills:

  • A portfolio of work that demonstrates a strong ability to develop compelling, imaginative and innovative creative solutions for campaigns and content
  • Ability to capture high-quality images & videos, including knowledge of camera settings, composition, and editing techniques.
  • Proficiency in editing software
  • Experience in creating platform-specific content, including Stories, Reels, and Youtube videos.
  • Ensuring all content adheres to brand guidelines, maintaining a consistent look and feel across all media
  • Strong writing skills for crafting engaging captions, posts, and social media content
  • Ability to create compelling narratives that resonate with the audience and align with brand messaging
  • Experience managing multiple social media accounts, including posting, scheduling, and community engagement
  • Proficiency in using analytics tools to track and measure content performance

Experience:

  • 2-5 years experience as a content creator either in-house or in agency.
  • A portfolio of creative content work for similar UK brands too.
