Job Description

We’re on a mission to provide equitable access to economic opportunity, for everyone.

We close critical skill gaps in the workforce through a new kind of apprenticeship that combines work and learning. We begin by recognizing high-potential individuals both inside and outside of a company's current workforce and then we create applied, guided and equitable learning programs, with measurable impact. Because we believe the world needs a better way to match its potential.

We work with over 1,500 leading companies including the likes of Microsoft, Citi and Just Eat to help solve their business-critical problems, and we’ve trained over 16,000 professional apprentices in the tech and data skills of the future. This is made possible by our global team who are driven to achieve a mission that matters, together.

Join Multiverse and help us set a new course for work.

As Director of Data Products, you will oversee the tools, processes & people that form the foundation of Multiverse's internal data products (including our interactive data tools, self-service data sources & other internally-facing processed data assets). You will develop and implement our approach to fostering data alignment, accessibility, analysis & action through highly usable data products that enhance every aspect of our business - helping ensure we become an ever-more data-literate and insight-informed organisation.

This role sits within the Data & Insight team, reporting to the VP of Data & Insight, alongside our Director of Data Engineering & Director of Data Science. You will collaborate closely with leaders across all of Multiverse's business and technology teams. Success in this role requires a thoughtful, innovative, and pragmatic approach. You will balance technical expertise with people management - bringing hands-on technical capabilities when needed.

What you'll focus on:

* Ensuring our data products approach fully aligns with and supports our wider business objectives

* Managing & developing our team of data products specialists - including Data Product Managers & Analytics Developers

* Building and growing our team through thoughtful recruitment & onboarding

* Contributing thought leadership on data product development & management both internally and externally

* Collaborating on leadership initiatives within the broader Data & Insight team and Tech organisation

Data Product Management

* Developing and steering our overall data product roadmap based on business impact

* Creating frameworks to understand and translate stakeholder needs into effective data products

* Establishing clear processes for gathering requirements and defining success criteria

* Developing scalable approaches for colleagues to interact sustainably with our data products

* Fostering high adoption and impact through comprehensive documentation, training, support & monitoring

Technical Development

* Managing our data products technology stack to optimize for clarity, usability, performance, security, efficiency & scalability

* Establishing & implementing technical design & development best practices

* Monitoring & assessing relevant technologies/processes to identify opportunities & address potential gaps

* Evaluating & implementing new technologies that enhance our data products capabilities

Collaboration

* Working closely with Data & Insight leadership on priorities, resourcing & problem solving

* Building strong partnerships with business leaders to define key metrics and reporting needs

* Engaging with Product leadership on alignment of product management approaches

* Maintaining open communication with Information Security & Data Privacy/Protection teams

* Managing external technical partnerships as needed

What we're looking for:

Required Experience & Skills

* 10+ years of relevant data product development & management experience

* 5+ years of experience leading high-performing data teams

* Demonstrated success embedding data products within dynamic organisations

* Track record of balancing business insight with product analytics needs in technology organisations

* Hands-on experience with Tableau (and ideally Metabase)

* Working knowledge of SQL (and ideally dbt)

* Interest in emerging analytics trends (e.g. AI-powered tools & features)

* History of delivering high quality results against important goals and timelines
