The Opportunity

Our Project Strategy & Delivery team is looking for Project Managers across a range of experience to support the delivery of our committed work, and growing pipeline of prospects for government and institutional clients. The role may include both taking ownership of whole projects with as well as project management functions within a broader PMO on some of our largest engagements. To achieve this, you will work closely with Commercial and Technical leaders and develop productive relationships with counterparts within our clients and partners.

With us, you’ll have the opportunity to engage across several key markets – aviation, transportation, energy, defence, water and the built environment in Perth and across Australia. Initially you will focus on aviation, transportation, buildings, and defence.

You will be joining a diverse team of consultants who are passionate about what they do, with a proven track record guiding our clients, and leading delivery of our most critical projects. At the nexus of technical and commercial issues, our team take ownership of tough problems and consciously move projects forward.

Depending on your specific expertise, your responsibilities will include various aspects of:

  • Managing scope and mitigating scope creep by being actively engaged with technical teams.
  • Identifying constraints and opportunities in complex multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Preparing clear and concise project plans that are actively utilised throughout delivery.
  • Developing schedules that people are comfortable referencing and relying on.
  • Monitoring and analysing project performance and knowing when and how to course correct with the team.
  • Collaborating with project advisors and our technical team to deliver client packages for various elements of project delivery.
  • Developing and delivering project reports and registers and engaging with client counterparts.
  • Administering subcontractor arrangements including scope, delivery, payments, insurance, reporting and due diligence.
  • Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve project management procedures, templates, and products that improve our client services.
  • Collaborating with our commercial leaders, in-house counsel, insurance managers, and technical leads to produce fit for purpose internal solutions to project risks.
  • Representing best practices and supporting project management acumen within and beyond our team.

About You

With around 8 years of experience in project management, you will have honed your skills through time within or consulting to client organisations. While you may not demonstrate all of the following indicators, we encourage you to consider the role if you have particular experience in many of the following areas and an interest in developing in the others.

  • Championing good practice and transparent, sound project decisions
  • Holding tertiary qualifications relevant to project management, engineering or business
  • Working productively with a broad range of multi-disciplinary technical professionals and stakeholders to develop and deliver on scope
  • Taking carriage of projects through their full lifecycle
  • Being comfortable interpreting contracts and knowing when and how to seek expert advice
  • Contributing to healthy subcontractor relationships that work for our clients
  • Working collaboratively with clients to confirm scope and expectations and communicating this to the team in clear and concise language
  • Enjoying consulting on energy, transport, or signature social infrastructure projects
  • Honing your strong project skills and detailed understanding of relevant delivery strategies in Perth
  • Knowing when and how to exert your influence effectively
