Job Description

As a Senior Cable System Engineer, you will work within a multi-discipline team to develop and/or review efficient and reliable electrical system design packages for medium and high voltage Transmission System especially Land and Submarine Cable System up to 400kV Level within ASEA region as well as on global projects.
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Carry out Concept design, Feed design and Detail Design Engineering of EHV/HV/MV Land and Submarine Cable System

  • Leads Cable System design to assess the requirements for the Voltage assessment, cable sizing considering environmental and installation condition, Cable system design & routing etc.

  • Transmission of Power from Onshore/Offshore Renewable Energy plants (Solar/Wind) to MV/HV Substations.

  • Create design documents, technical specifications, Data sheets and sectional drawings for projects including bills of materials.

  • Prepare and/or review Tender drawings, Bill of Quantities, Scope of work for projects, Price estimation etc as a part of Tender document; Evaluate Contractor’s bid proposals and generate techno-commercial tender evaluation reports.

  • Coordinate with the members of other disciplines within the design delivery team to ensure final design package is fully interfaced and coordinated.

  • Accountable to provide design activities in accordance with applicable codes and standards, Client specifications, including Mott MacDonald policies and procedures, such as Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and Quality Control.

  • Provide Technical support to Site teams in resolving any construction, testing & commissioning issues, including site visits if required

  • Witness Factory acceptance Tests (FAT) and review/approve FAT procedure and FAT reports

  • Master's Degree / Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • At least 5 years of relevant Experience in EHV/HV Electrical transmission Design

  • Thorough knowledge of relevant IEC, IEEE, NEC, DNV Standards and CIGRE recommendations

  • Full proficiency in Korean and English is a must, especially in writing and speaking.

  • Highly achieved and has strong track record of project delivery, project technical resolutions, customer engagement with quality assurance and compliance.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Preferred Optional Skills: Candidates with below skills will be preferred but are not mandatory requirements

  • HVDC Overhead, Land or Submarine Cable System Design Experience

  • Design experience of working with major international Consulting or Turnkey Contracting Companies

  • Familiarity with the Transmission system associated with Renewable Energy

  • Software experience: PSCAD/EMTDC, Power Factory, CYMCAP, PSS/E etc
