About the Business Unit

Global Delivery Services Centre (GDSC) is a high-impact business unit within Mott MacDonald, dedicated to enhancing project delivery across our global operations.

As part of GDSC, you’ll join a team that champions excellence in both technical and digital disciplines, supporting projects at every stage of the lifecycle—from concept to completion. We work to international design standards and regulations, ensuring our contributions meet the highest benchmarks of quality and innovation.

As part of GDSC in India, you will be working alongside Mott MacDonald international colleagues delivering ambitious projects across a broad range of building types including commercial, residential, retail and offices, education, healthcare, airports, data center, hotels, sports and events venues, Theme parks, Airport and Metro stations. Under this sector, our services span the whole asset cycle from advisory to consulting, through design and delivery, to asset management. With deep understanding of all phases of the building lifecycle, it enables us to give our clients the best-informed engineering and innovative solutions.

Role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer PHE to manage projects for global markets.

Key Deliverables:

  • Be in charge for planning and design of all building services elements of the PHE (water, drainage/(Sanitary& Rain/Storm water) and coordination with other Mechanical & Electrical services (M&E) ,Structure and Architecture.

  • Be incharge for concept design including Space proofing based on evaluation for various options in coordination with architectural, structural input and in accordance with initial load/Demand estimates.

  • Design Calculation knowledge based on relevant BS Stds & Codes, CIBSE Guide G, IOP ,IPC ,UPC Knowledge on Middle East stds & local regulations like DM/ADM & DEWA is added advantage.

  • Ensure all design work is carried out in accordance with Company’s quality standard procedures.

  • Ensure checking of all design outputs of PH Modellers and seamless coordination between other sections/disciplines and with BIM team for clash resolution

  • Ensure the completeness of design deliverables within time limits

  • Knowledge on Digital Automation of PH is added advantage

  • Share knowledge and experience to coach and develop junior staffs.

Key Capabilities:

  • Candidate should be B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Civil - Environment /Public Health Engineering discipline.

  • Have 9 years plus experience in Public Health Engineering/Plumbing design and knowledge on inter-disciplines and clash resolutions.

  • Have experience in Residential, Commercial,high rise buildings,shopping malls, hotels, hospitals,Sports buildings, Gym ,Recreational Club, Theme parks, Airport ,Metro projects,Defence buildings etc.,

  • Have experience in design of internal & external water supply, sewerage and drainage (Storm water/Ran Water and surface water),

  • Knowledge on irrigation distribution network is added advantage & not mandatory

  • Knowledge on relevant BS Standards & Codes of PHE- Plumbing & Sanitary Drainage Codes must.

  • Familiarity with local authority codes and regulations such as of local Municipality, water authority, drainage and sewerage department, environmental authority etc., of countries in which the candidate has job experience. UK/British region (mostly preferred), If candidate has Middle East & other ANZ (Australia & Newzealand) regions exp. as well, also shall be an added advantage and not mandatory.

  • Good knowledge of relevant international codes and regulations.

  • Knowledge in sustainable, green building design practices and rating guidelines is added advantage & not mandatory

  • Handle design independently with minimal supervision and lead a team of technicians/modellers.

  • Have good oral and written communication skills and liaise with clients directly.

  • Should be capable of handling PH Services -Water, Sanitary & Storm water drainage design independently which includes preparation of design calculations ,preparing Engg design mark-ups & execute the project work down the line

  • Experience in relevant design software such as Auto CAD, REVIT,Navisworks and IT Literacy is mandatory & able to work independently in BIM modelling -Revit is Mandatory.

  • Knowledge in ACC & BIM 360 Workflows as well Mandatory & essential
