Senior Electrical Engineer - Switchyard

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and technically proficient Senior Electrical Engineer – Switchyard to join our team for an industrial manufacturing project. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of switchyard systems (ranging from 132kV to 765kV), ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of switchyard systems including GIS/AIS substations, transformers, circuit breakers, isolators, CTs, PTs, and protection systems.
• Review and approve technical drawings, SLDs, GA drawings, and equipment specifications.
• Coordinate with design consultants, OEMs, EPC contractors, and site teams for timely execution.
• Ensure adherence to relevant standards (IEC, IS, CEA, CBIP, etc.) and safety protocols.
• Conduct FAT/SAT, insulation resistance tests, HV tests, and relay coordination studies.
• Interface with statutory authorities for inspections and approvals.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and quality documentation.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience: 10+ years
• Industry: Industrial Projects
• Qualification: BE / BTech in Electrical Engineering
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment and protection systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, ETAP, and MS Office tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage contractors and ensure timely project delivery.
• Knowledge of Gujarat state regulations and local site conditions.
