About the role

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing Buildings team in Riyadh. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of building and infrastructure projects across the public and private sectors, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the technical delivery of Building Services Electrical Engineering projects, supporting project managers and lead engineers throughout all stages of design and delivery. You will work closely with clients, project stakeholders and internal teams whilst continuing to develop your technical expertise and project delivery capabilities.

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

• Deliver Electrical Building Services designs across a variety of building and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare technical reports, design calculations, specifications, schedules and engineering documentation.
• Produce and review electrical design drawings and coordinate design information with multidisciplinary teams.
• Undertake surveys of existing electrical systems and contribute to refurbishment and upgrade solutions.
• Support the development of energy-efficient and sustainable electrical engineering solutions.
• Contribute to project delivery in accordance with programme, budget and quality requirements.
• Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, architects and other engineering disciplines.
• Support project managers and technical leads with design coordination and technical reviews.
• Assist in the preparation of fee proposals and technical inputs for project bids where required.
• Mentor and support graduate and early-career engineers, contributing to technical knowledge sharing within the team.
• Support continuous improvement and digital ways of working, sharing knowledge and lessons learned.

Candidate specification

Essential

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering (Electrical) or a related discipline.
• Member of the Saudi Council of Engineers.
• Working towards or recently achieved Chartered Engineer (CEng) status and membership of CIBSE, IET or an equivalent professional body.
• Proven experience delivering Electrical Building Services designs within consultancy or engineering environments.
• Good understanding of building regulations, codes, standards and best practice applicable to the built environment.
• Experience using industry-standard engineering software such as Amtech, IES, Relux and Revit.
• BIM awareness and experience working within coordinated design environments.
• Strong communication, report writing and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable

• Experience working on commercial, hospitality, education, residential, healthcare or mixed-use developments.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary project delivery teams.
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles and energy-efficient building systems.
• Experience mentoring graduate engineers or technicians.
• Previous experience working on projects within Saudi Arabia or the wider Middle East region.
