Job Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ability to understand and evaluate GDS scope for the project based on interpretation of inputs provided by lead office. Inputs can be red line markups, reference documents viz. site photos, lidar / point cloud data.
• Ability to generate clarifications/queries in case of unclear/ambiguous inputs, discuss the same with lead office counterparts and communicate the requirements clearly to GDS team.
• Proficient in conducting thorough Technical and BIM/CAD quality checks, in line with QA/QC procedures. for all Electrical deliverables viz. Single line Diagrams, schematics, Equipment layouts, Cable tray /conduit routing layouts, Lighting layouts. Hazardous Area classification layouts, Power layouts, Grounding Layouts, Lightning Protection Layouts, Installation drawings and Bulk MTO (Material take-off) for Electrical systems within Oil & Gas projects.
• The activities can be for FEED, Concept studies or detailed design. It will involve both HV and LV distribution based on Client standards, international standards (NEC, API, IEC, IEEE) – for US, Middle East, Europe, South-East Asia regions.
• Coordination with other Disciplines or external design consultant for sharing of Inputs as well as carrying out Interdisciplinary checks.
• Demonstrates a strong ability to consistently meet project deadlines, showcasing a dedicated approach to task completion. This includes flexibility to work on 2d/3d deliverables and occasional flexibility in working hours in case of project exigencies and when required.
• Shall be a dedicated team player who takes accountability, delegates effectively, develops processes for effective delivery of projects and guides team of modellers in completion of assigned tasks within stipulated timeline.
• Duties may include extended, but temporary, out-of-town assignments.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualification:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 15-20 years relevant experience in Electrical design/draughting in a consultancy organisation for O&G Projects. Overseas experience as well experience in Power Sector would be an added advantage.
• Software Proficiency: ACAD 2D, Navisworks, Bluebeam Revu, PDF Xchange Editor. Elementary knowledge of CadWorx, Visual Lighting, Dialux would be an added advantage.
• Awareness in use of MS office - word/excel.
• Good understanding of functioning of major electrical equipment.
• Ability to work in independently with lead office as part of integrated team
• Ability to interpret lead office comments and to work with minimum mark-ups
• Very good written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate in English.
• Self-motivated individual with keen interest to learn new skills and add value to the team/organisation
