Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager to support infrastructure work for key municipal clients within the Greater New Orleans area. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical municipal design background, a client-first mindset, and a passion for mentoring junior staff. In this role you will serve as the primary point of contact for our municipal clients, including New Orleans-area agencies and parishes. Assisting as a client facing key leader in driving engaged relationships. You will lead design and construction efforts for roadway reconstruction, drainage improvements, and linear water infrastructure projects (e.g., water and sewer mains).

Responsibilities include:

  • Be a forward-facing client relationship manager with local municipal clients.
  • Oversee project financials, reporting, and contracts.
  • Act as Engineer of Record (EOR), ensuring quality, compliance, and consistency across project deliverables
  • Prepare and lead technical design, reports, specifications, and proposals.
  • Attend and lead in project, client, and team meetings
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary coordination, including with subconsultants, utilities, and permitting agencies
  • Provide hands-on mentorship to junior engineers, supporting their technical growth and development

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Active Louisiana (PE) Professional Engineering licenses required
  • ATTSA Traffic Control Supervisor, preferred
  • 7-10+ years of civil engineering experience, preferably with municipal infrastructure
  • Proven track record of working with City of New Orleans, Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans, or Jefferson Parish is highly desirable
  • Previous client relationship experience
  • Strong working knowledge of LADOTD standards
  • Understanding software such AutoCAD Civil 3D, Procore, and MS Project.
  • Written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail, with an ability to demonstrate accurate technical drawings
