Your Opportunity

Due to strong growth and recent wins in the Water market in South Australia, we are seeking a design manager, preferably with experience in the water sector, to join our team in Adelaide. You will be joining a diverse and passionate team with a proven track record delivering major projects across Australia in a growing sector, working with local clients such as SA Water and DIT as well as national and international clients.

This role will present you with a fantastic opportunity to further develop your management skills through your project work, with great prospects for career progression as the business continues to grow. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage delivery of design documentation and ensure compliance with client requirements and design standards.
  • Oversee programme management, design budgets, and resource planning.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
  • Act as main client contact for technical and commercial matters.
  • Manage risks, design assurance, and design change processes.
  • Ensure designs are delivered to programme, with appropriate approvals and stakeholder engagement.
  • Chair design, coordination, and risk review meetings.
  • Provide oversight and quality assurance for design documentation and submissions.
  • Ensure effective collaboration and communication with project teams, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Lead and mentor team members, identify training needs, and plan/implement staff development.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and wellbeing requirements
  • Coordinate with Information Management (e.g., BIM, document management plans).


About you

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant discipline
  • Experience in water infrastructure and design management
  • Proven leadership in delivering major multi-disciplinary projects
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a strategic mindset
  • Deep understanding of Australian standards
  • Chartered status or working toward it (desirable)
