Building on our continued success, we are thrilled to announce the opening of a Water Group Lead position in the North Division. As a key leader, you will champion our PRIDE values and foster a collaborative, innovative culture.

Your role will involve leading project work to ensure high-quality deliverables, supporting business development, and managing staff with a focus on health, safety, and engagement.

Role Requirements:

  • Leadership of the Group aligned with the NASA and East Unit Strategic Plan​.
  • Project delivery – leading and supporting project work to ensure high quality deliverables and technical excellence in all work executed for clients.
  • Build a cohesive culture focused on quality, technical excellence, and talent development in line with our PRIDE values and Employee Value Proposition​.
  • Understanding of clients' needs through working closely with Portfolio Managers, Strategic Market and Account Leads to pursue opportunities and supporting Business Development, as necessary​.
  • Management and support of staff – ensuring personal and organizational goals are established for staff; collaborating and guiding Line Managers about staff’s growth or performance concerns; focusing on health, safety and wellbeing including creating a culture that promotes positive staff engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining a collaborative and respectful culture that encourages excellence, innovation, and learning​.
  • Winning work – working with Strategic Market and Account Leads to pursue opportunities, supporting Business Development as necessary​.
  • Doing work – leading and supporting project work to ensure high quality deliverables and technical excellence in all work executed for clients and supporting multi-disciplinary projects, focusing on compliance & innovation​.
  • Management and support of staff – focusing on health, safety and wellbeing, including creating a culture that promotes positive staff engagement​.
  • Advising on promotion, salary, and training of the staff in the Group​
  • Managing the Discipline Leads, advising on team structure, and actively mentoring, coaching, and planning for succession​.
  • Collaborating with other Group leads to maximize the effectiveness of existing resources ​
  • Managing the utilization of resources (short-term and long-term), including planning and forecasting for critical projects and opportunity resourcing​.
  • Planning and leading the hiring of new staff – identifying gaps in the team, filling them, and planning for growth in alignment with the Regional strategic objectives​.
  • Participating in and actively contributing to Divisional operational matters and proactively cascade information regularly from Region/Unit updates​.
  • Visible leadership with internal and external representation.

Key Accountabilities / KPI’s:

  • Quality deliverables in both the WIN and DO phases, including proposals and projects, through providing appropriate QA/QC processes with the various disciplines within the Division Group you are responsible for.​
  • Managing utilization targets for Resource Groups including resourcing project work appropriately to understand resource requirements on projects. ​
  • Organizational structure of the Division Group including headcount, planning for, and hiring for growth aligned with Unit and Regional strategic objectives. ​
  • Recommendation of salary increases, bonuses, promotions, and appointments including preparing required supporting documents.
  • Mandatory staff training in accordance with Mott MacDonald requirements​.
  • Health and Safety reporting in accordance with Mott MacDonald requirements.​
  • Oversite of Ethics and Compliance of the Division Group​.
  • Following BMS WIN and DO processes​.
  • Timesheet compliance.

Candidate specification:

  • 20+ years of experience leading teams in the Water/Wastewater industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant field; Master's degree preferred.
  • PE License in NY, NJ, and MA.
  • Proven ability to create and maintain a collaborative culture that fosters excellence, innovation, and learning.
  • Successful track record in winning work and supporting Business Development.
  • Strong project management skills, ensuring high-quality deliverables and technical excellence.
  • Experience managing and supporting large-scale teams across multiple geographies, with a focus on health, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Strong mentor and player/coach, supporting ongoing staff development.
  • Experience leading hiring initiatives, identifying team gaps, and planning for growth.
  • Demonstrate visible leadership and effective communication skills, both internally and externally.

NYC: $220,000 - $270,000

NJ: $190,000 - $230,000

Boston: $190,000 - $230,000

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
