About the role

We are looking for a self-motivated and energetic Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Civils practice in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. You will support the delivery of key infrastructure and land development projects across the country, contributing to projects involving roads, bridges, buildings and water systems. Working collaboratively with local and geographically diverse teams, you will help prepare engineering designs, drawings, specifications and technical reports throughout the project lifecycle. This role provides an opportunity to build your technical capability, develop your understanding of relevant standards and pursue professional engineering membership. Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

• Assist with the preparation of detailed plans, drawings and specifications for civil infrastructure projects.
• Contribute to projects involving roads, bridges, buildings and water systems.
• Produce written reports for different stages of the project lifecycle.
• Prepare methodologies, case studies and supporting information for project proposals.
• Apply relevant engineering design principles, standards and codes.
• Collaborate effectively with local and offshore teams from diverse geographical and cultural backgrounds.
• Organise workloads, manage priorities and support the timely delivery of project outputs.
• Adopt a proactive and collaborative approach to complex tasks and overall project delivery.
• Support continuous improvement and digital ways of working, sharing knowledge and lessons learned.
• Demonstrate safe, ethical and inclusive behaviours aligned to Mott MacDonald values.

Candidate specification

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an internationally accredited university.
• Basic knowledge of civil infrastructure.
• Understanding of engineering design principles, standards and codes.
• Knowledge of current international codes and local Saudi regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate confidently and professionally in English.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively as part of geographically and culturally diverse teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Desirable

• Basic knowledge of master planning and land development projects.
• Knowledge of BIM and standard industry software.
• Willingness to travel for short-term assignments.
• Drive to become a Chartered Engineer or achieve membership of another professional engineering institution.
