Job Description:

Main Purpose of the Job:

Mott MacDonald is currently looking for a Civil/Structural Inspector who will be responsible for inspecting the installation of steel and concrete structural works within a metro rehabilitation projects, ensuring their compliancy with the codes and standards within the contract.

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

• Provide professional support to the project team, helping to ensure high quality service delivery and a co-ordinated response to clients
• Involve delegated trust and authority, together with the use of initiative, at a level commensurate with the status of the post
• Check site conditions for suitability prior to construction
• Develop and maintain the Quality Management System, Quality Management Plan in line with legislation, certification, contract requirements and parent company governance
• Observe, check and record work execution is in accordance with approved methods
• Manage QA implementation and assure full compliance with extensive QA/QC processes
• Check setting-out and levels
• Check services locations and ensure their protection
• Record inspections, tests, work executed etc.
• Observe site safety procedures and actively monitor and report on contractor’s safety performance, raising non-conformance reports when required.
• Actively monitor implementation of contractor’s quality procedures and raise non-conformance reports when required.
• Assist in the preparation of ‘As Built’ drawings
• To undertake specific projects as required.

Candidate Specification:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or any relevant engineering; additional certificates or qualifications in Health and Safety would be preferred
• Relevant experience in building construction projects
• Proven experience in managing all HSE matters on large construction sites
• Experience within a consultancy environment is preferred
• Experience of working on a metro stations would be advantageous
• Continuously looking for innovations and improvements to manage workload and accomplish deliverables across individuals, teams and projects.
