About the business unit


We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and​ advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.

Overview of role


Day to day you will lead the BIM delivery of projects, helping to manage concurrent priorities across the teams. You will need to establish the strategy and governance of BIM requirements on behalf of authors, custodians and owners, to enable our projects and clients to meet their various business requirements.


Projects may vary from major design and build commissions to a portfolio of smaller advisory projects.

Responsibilties

  • Providing technical advice to enhance BIM delivery standards and functional capability according to ISO 19650.
  • Acting as the intermediary between designers, clients and architects so that projects remain efficient, coordinated within a collaborative framework.
  • Ensuring that BIM execution plans are produced and maintained. On occasions you will peer review the BEPs of other projects.
  • Supporting and auditing the project team and flagging non-compliances.
  • Producing monthly reports for senior managers, to identify and measure BIM implementation.
  • Supporting the career development, coaching and mentoring of a team of staff.
  • Shape digital project delivery using both our internal and emerging tools to drive continuous improvements.
  • Regularly connecting with our Clients as you seek to develop improved solutions to their challenges.
  • Working alongside the project management teams providing insights from project information and supporting the ongoing strategic development of project delivery.

Essential

  • Responsible for BIM implementation within the account.
  • Required to build a strong and open network across the account to break down silos and improve knowledge sharing.
  • Work closely with existing and new projects to elicit information requirements, develop processes and work directly with clients.
  • Report to the information management board and work closely with other BIM managers and account leaders across the division.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good knowledge of infrastructure projects and a general technical ability
  • Be open minded, assertive, cooperative, strong sense of team and vision driven.
  • Hands on and practical insight of the latest BIM and digital IM processes and tools.
  • Good technical knowledge of a range of software platforms, databases and tools.
  • Relevant BIM experience
  • Experience of operating asset management against ISO 19650-3 or PAS1192-3 (Information Management using Building Information Modelling)
  • Experience of the design, construction, and delivery of infrastructure projects
  • Experience of managing BIM and digital information element of multi-disciplinary projects (delivery and operation)
  • Experience using authoring software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD & Bentley
  • Experience using collaboration software like SharePoint (CDE) & Projectwise
  • Awareness of using Data visualisation software like Power BI
  • Commercial awareness, as well as the capacity to modify strategy and technical needs to meet client/project/practice objectives.
  • Confident leading and working as part of a team with good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, autonomous but able to work effectively with the wider team.
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of different audiences, both technical and non-technical to lead project & regional transformation forward.
  • Be driven to pursue continued education in Digital & BIM and connect with wider internal and external industry community.
