About the division


We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and​ advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.

Overview of role

You will be delivering technical due diligence and advisory projects, capacity analysis projects, traffic forecasting, modelling and detailing airport facility requirements and level of service outcomes, building and using airport modelling tools and techniques whilst using your understanding of aviation market data sources to identify their respective uses and suitability for internal and external use.

As part of your role, you are likely to get involved with the following tasks:

  • Assessing CAPEX, REPEX and OPEX implications of airport development projects using existing database tools and models
  • Traffic forecasting and market analysis
  • Airport operational improvements, passenger experience, concept of operations
  • Commercial and contractual management discussions
  • Engaging with aviation clients, demonstrating excellent knowledge assimilation and applying this to project assignments
  • Writing high quality technical and market related reports and proposals and presenting project material to colleagues and clients
  • Provide guidance and support to Aviation Analysts in their development of Analytical projects for airports in the UK and around the world
  • Further develop in-house built Forecasting Tools
  • Manage internal benchmarking databases across the aviation community to best serve our projects by facilitating users to access pertinent information
  • Start to directly manage projects as both a Technical Lead and Project Manager to support your development in line with your experience
  • Oversee possible future additional junior staff and mentor their development in best practice forecasting and data analytics
  • Develop best practice user guides on all the analytical concepts and projects in which we work as a team
  • Lead the engagement and management of subconsultants
  • Undertake line management duties (where applicable as this may not immediately be the case)
  • Undertake client visits both domestically and abroad in support of project delivery and client relationship development and enhancement

Candidate specification

We are looking for a flexible and motivated professional with experience and a genuine passion for the aviation industry.


To apply for this position, you must have the following:

  • A degree in aeronautical engineering, civil engineering, air transport management, airport planning or mathematics. Candidates with economics, sustainability, finance or business-related studies may also be considered.
  • Fluency in English – knowledge of other languages will be valued.
  • Experience in the aviation industry, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent transferrable skills from another relevant industry.


Elements necessary to be successful in this role is the ability to deliver at least one of the following:

  • CAPEX, REPEX and OPEX Assessment (with an understanding of airport planning, engineering design and airport operations)
  • Traffic forecasting and data analytics
  • Airport facilities capacity optimisation and analysis
  • Airport operational improvements, passenger experience, concept of operations

Additionally, we’ll need to see knowledge and a proven track record delivering air market and traffic forecasting reports, describing risks and suitability as well as knowledge of air market historical and planned development at a global, regional and local level. The successful candidate will need to be able to travel and work overseas (sometimes at short notice) as required.

We are looking for candidates with the following experience and characteristics:

  • The ability to engage as part of a multi-disciplinary team and a diverse range of projects
  • A methodical and numerical approach to problem solving and critical thinking
  • The ability to lead tasks independently
  • An ability to work under a flexible (agile) working arrangement both in office and remotely
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and colleagues
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail, being able to oversee the development of excel models and PowerPoint presentations
  • Advanced user of Word, PowerPoint and Excel (Power BI desirable)
  • Ability to code in different but progressive programming languages including, but not limited to, R and Python as well as SQL
