Here within the Anglian Water @one Alliance we are a totally collaborative organisation made up of our eight partner companies (Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO) and our extended supply chain, working together to deliver over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.

We are gearing up for our most exciting and challenging Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP8, this will see us deliver a programme of work larger than we’ve ever delivered before. We’ll be embarking on a new kind of project delivery focusing on nature-based solutions like wetlands and urban drainage schemes.

To successfully deliver this ground- breaking project, we are looking for an Innovation Project Manager to help Anglian Water and the @One Alliance unlock benefit through the development and delivery of innovation projects that seek to address some of the biggest opportunities and challenges facing our sector.

What will you be doing as our new Innovation Project Manager?
As our new Innovation Project Manager, you’ll project manage industry leading exploration, trial and testing projects in response to business challenges in areas such as carbon neutrality, sustainability, digital transformation, novel design and construction techniques and the development of novel treatment technologies. You’ll also help develop innovation ideas into fundable and deliverable projects, that can secure external funding e.g. ofwat innovation fund.

You’ll provide project management support to the @One Innovation Team (e.g. our Materials Scientist, Innovation Lead, Carbon and Sustainability Manager) as well as mentorship to more junior members of the team in effective project management. This will include ensuring that we have robust delivery plans in place and are delivering high quality projects within the programme, budget and scope.

Key responsibilities:
Work with the @One Alliance and the wider Anglian Water Strategic Delivery and Commercial Assurance (SD&CA) Innovation Teams and wider stakeholders to define project structure & produce all required Project Management documentation.

Act as a conduit for knowledge and information exchange between the @One Alliance and Anglian Water’s innovation teams and identify and agree project deliverables with project sponsor and wider project team.

Drive project mobilisation and delivery with stakeholders and action owners, identify challenges and work with the project team and others to identify solutions to mitigate impact.

Continuously review project business cases (including Ofwat submission and other innovation projects) to ensure delivery of benefits or the requirement to redefine and refocus projects.

Ensure escalation to Innovation Manager Lead and wider team of any project risks and issues that cannot be controlled within the project.

Engage with different functions across Anglian Water, the @One Alliance, other AW capital delivery vehicles and other project partners in order to effectively and efficiently develop, progress and deliver projects; including finance, legal, procurement, change management and benefits realisation.
