We are gearing up for our most exciting and challenging Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP 8, this will see us deliver a programme of work larger than we’ve ever delivered before. With a large ramp-up of work in front of us, we have a host of engineering projects which require our Delivery team to provide enthusiasm and innovation to deliver engineering excellence. To bolster civil engineering capabilities and provide fresh ideas and perspective on our ways of working, we are looking for Civil Engineers to join the team!

What will you be doing as our new Civil Engineer?
Working as a talented Civil Engineer within a multi-disciplinary project team, you’ll provide the civil engineering technical capability and design expertise to develop and deliver water and water recycling solutions.

Key responsibilities:
Production of civil designs, calculations and specifications to ‘Issued For Construction’ standard for water, wastewater or pipeline projects, liaising directly with CAD technicians to enable production of either 3D models or 2D drawings.

Working within multi-discipline design teams to produce designs which are on time, within budget and meet the required standards, liaising with stakeholders including Operations, contractors and suppliers along the way.

Drive excellence in Health and Safety in design by eliminating hazards and reducing risks during design whilst complying with Alliance CDM procedures.

Progress projects from feasibility stage through detailed design to construction.

Undertake site visits to assess current condition of our assets for feasibility studies, reports and provide survey data for integration of the asset into our design solution.

Provide support to update existing, and increase the number of, Standard Products that are used within our design solutions on a repeatable basis.

Identify and promote opportunities to meet the project digital, sustainability, innovation and people objectives.


A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours….
To join us on the team, ideally you’ll hold a minimum of HNC/HND in Civil Engineering and extensive experience in Civil Engineering. You’ll be accustomed to communicating with a range of people as you collaborate to meet, and exceed, stakeholder expectations. Your strong reporting writing skills and data analysis capabilities will allow you to understand our challenges and enthusiastically suggest enhanced ways of working.

If you have and understanding or experience working with the majority of the below:
Reinforced concrete design to BS EN 1992, Concrete specification to BS 8500-2, Service reservoir design, Steeling building (portal frame) specification and understanding of basic design concepts, understanding of masonry design and detail, ground engineering, earthworks specifications, buried pipework design (working from P&ID), including material selection, sizing, layout and detailing of below ground surface water collection and disposal systems within the Water and Waste Water Industry, and are looking looking for an opportunity to take the next step in your engineering career with an industry-leading alliance, please apply today!
