We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Commercial Manager who who exhibits a keen enthusiasm for collaborating with our client teams to ensure the successful delivery of their complex projects on schedule, within budget, and to high-quality standards, while upholding a strong commitment to safety. This exceptional opportunity provides the successful candidate with exposure to complex and vital defence infrastructure projects in the UK.

What you will contribute to the team:

  • Support the development of contracting and procurement plans.
  • Assist the preparation of tender and contract documentation.
  • Assist the management of the tender processes.
  • Management of appropriate contracts.
  • Assist negotiations across pricing, contract terms, risk and Intellectual Property Rights.
  • Support governance procedures, processes and systems.
  • Assist in the management of eSourcing and/or eEvaluation systems.
  • Providing administrative duties on contracts and procurement processes for client team
  • Adhering to appropriate Public Procurement Regulations.
  • Working effectively with stakeholders, inside and outside of client organisation, to ensure successful outcomes and wider team deliverables.

Required for the position of Assistant Commercial Manager

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent
  • Working towards professional membership with an applicable professional organisation
  • Experience in commercial delivery, gained in a Consultancy or Main Contractor environment
  • Knowledge and appreciation of commercial management methodologies, including NEC4 and NEC3.
  • Flexibility to travel and work in different sectors and clients
  • Good research and analytical skills
  • Good oral and written communication and organisation skills
  • Essential Soft skills include, leadership, flexibility, self-motivation, effective listening, persuasion, creativity, collaborative style, insightfulness
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft applications
  • Working knowledge of commercial management software and tools
  • Please be advised that offers for this role are conditional upon obtaining the appropriate level of Security Clearance.

Desirable

  • Existing security clearance (SC or higher)
  • Commercial delivery on defence Infrastructure
