Job Description

We want to give our people the best possible opportunity to develop their career and talents with Moneysupermarket Group.

Before applying for a vacancy please ensure you have let your Manager know, as they will receive a notification about your application.

We’re on a mission to save our users as much money as possible. Through Moneysupermarket.com, MoneySavingExpert & Quidco we reach more than 24 million visitiors a month, helping UK households save over £2bn each year. Can you tell this is something that we're exceptionally proud of!

But we're not stopping here. We’re committed to making our products and services even better to help them save even more.

We’ve got big plans, particularly with our native apps, but to complete this we need passionate engineers who can improve and contribute to our processes. That’s where this role comes in. We’re looking for a Tech Lead who can play a key role in leading one of our android teams; working together with skilled and articulate technical peers in the creation of world-class software products. Our teams encompass full-stack developers; backend developers; frontend developers; QAs and integrated UX and Product specialists.

We want you to support and lead the team in building the best products for our users. That’s the factor that links all of our engineers – a passion for building sites that tackle real life problems.

Our ideal candidate has strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and agile delivery experience. Quality engineering and developing new insights are also crucial qualities.

Our technologies

Our Android app is fully written in Kotlin, utilising coroutines for asynchronous code and we’ve also started adopting Jetpack Compose for our UI.

We never settle and we’re always looking for ways in which we can improve our technology estate. You can read about this in more detail here.

Why us?

Our benefits include up to 30 days holiday, a bonus, enhanced parental leave, and tools that empower our supportive culture. You can find a full list here.

We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform crucial job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.

We're an inclusive, anti-racist and equal opportunity employer that values diversity. This means we respect and embrace differences in gender identity, race, ethnic origin, sexual expression and orientation, religion and faith, age, marital status, disability, neurodiversity, social background, education and way of thinking. We’re a place where you can be you.

Our customers and users come from different backgrounds, as do our colleagues. We welcome applications from everyone, and particularly encourage women and Black, Asian and ethnic minority candidates to apply as we’re actively building representation that’s more closely reflective of the communities we serve. Our appointments are made on merit, following a robust and objective assessment process, and the candidate with the highest score is offered the role. If you’re passionate about our purpose of helping households save money and excited about what you could accomplish here, we’d love to hear from you.

We understand that job adverts only say so much and you’re likely to have a lot of questions. If you’d like to know anything before applying such as more on the location, salary, our parental leave policy etc, please just let us know and we’ll be happy to help. You can contact the recruiter for this role, Tom at tom.wood@moneysupermarket.com.
