  • Please note this is a 6-month, Fixed Term Contract, covering for one of our colleagues whilst they are on parental leave.
  • We follow a hybrid approach to work, spending 2-days per week on-site. This role is based in our Ewloe office, which is easily accessible from Cheshire, North Wales, and the wider Merseyside/North West region.

Our Finance team is growing, and we're hiring for a Management Accountant who can join us to cover for one of our colleagues whilst they are on parental leave. Join us to start going beyond comparison.


INSIGHT INTO THE ROLE


The Transactional Finance team looks after MONY Group’s transaction processing, management and financial accounting, reporting, tax and treasury. The overall team is made up of around 30 people, with the majority based in our Ewloe office near Chester.

We are looking to drive our output to be a centre of excellence in producing timely, relevant and reliable information for colleagues around the Group.


HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR DAY


This role will report into the Group Finance Manager and your role will cover:

  • Ownership of the production of month end accounts
  • Assist in the management of internal controls processes
  • Statutory reporting – subsidiary statutory accounts, annual and half yearly external reporting for group
  • Budget and forecasting
  • Systems/projects


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


You will be responsible for the overall delivery of the monthly management accounts pack (focusing mainly on the P&L) and a number of important accounting process outputs and therefore a key aspect of the role is attention to detail and accuracy, operating on a reliable and timely basis.


MONTH END:

  • Responsible for calculating and posting revenue and COS/operational costs
  • Responsible for analysing data and updating commentary for your respective areas
  • Ensuring operational costs trackers are actualised and forecasts are accurate for future periods
  • Preparation of P&L slides in monthly management accounts pack
  • Process of prepayments and accruals
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations


GENERAL ACCOUNTS FUNCTION:

  • Preparation and submission of quarterly covenant certificates
  • Preparation of National Statistics and other regulatory returns
  • Holding regular meetings with cost owners to assist in budgeting and forecasting
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving requisitions in Workday on a daily basis

MANAGEMENT OF TREASURY:

  • Oversee weekly and monthly bank reconciliations performed by assistant management accountant
  • Review and assist in the preparation of cash flow forecasts and cash flow reporting on a weekly basis
  • Management of RCF including loan drawdowns and repayments
  • Treasury management across a number of bank accounts and bank institutions
  • Bank administration and key contact for bank institutions


INTERNAL CONTROLS:

  • Responsible for assisting with the management of monthly and quarterly internal controls testing
  • Control owner for a couple of key controls
  • Control tester for a number of high and medium risk internal controls on a monthly and quarterly basis


BUDGETING AND FORECASTING:

  • Assisting the Opex & Headcount Manager and Commercial Finance teams in the process for producing annual budgets and rolling forecasts for your cost areas

STATUTORY REPORTING:

  • Assisting with the production of Group consolidated accounts and drafting of associated press releases, presentation materials, Annual Report, RNS etc. (half year end year end)
  • Liaising with auditors to ensure deliverables are provided in your area on a timely basis


PROJECTS/SYSTEMS:

  • Working with the Systems team to continually develop our use of Board and Workday functionality and continue to migrate away from Excel based inputs/outputs whilst constantly seeking to maintain and improve the control environment
  • Assist in any Workday integration projects including testing of data and processes
  • Responsible for Workday regression testing half yearly

  • Fully qualified (CIMA/ACA/ACCA)
