Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the powerhouse behind our cutting-edge Commercial cloud services and the bedrock of our AI product offerings. As a Senior Program Manager within the Regional Maxima team, you will operate within a dynamic and impactful team focused on managing both customer and internal growth within our regions. You will be instrumental in working across the company to ensure the health of our Commercial Cloud expansion exceeds customer expectations. Your pivotal role encompasses understanding the technical requirements of our customers in order to refine our region management process to ensure our customers can grow across all Azure Regions and communicating the strategy across Microsoft.

In the role you will:

  • Build and cultivate strategic relationships with key stakeholders and partners across the CO+I organization, Azure Core Compute Capacity Teams as well as Business Planning, Azure Marketing and in some cases, Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS)
  • Leverage your business acumen and technical expertise to bolster ongoing customer engagement (Internal and External) to ensure that our region strategy aligns with our customers’ needs and that all stakeholders understand the costs/benefits of adoption.
  • Provide insight into how changes to regional strategy will impact customer usage of commercial cloud and how best to provide the required visibility and suggested alternate solutions for customers.
  • Exercise high levels of curiosity to uncover and implement process enhancements, thereby fortifying our governance frameworks as we ambitiously expand our commercial cloud footprint amidst the dynamic landscapes of commercial and AI architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboration: Cultivate and maintain cross-team relationships within CO+I to support effective collaboration and teamwork, promoting a unified approach to regional expansion that embodies our One Microsoft ethos
  • Consumption Modelling: Based on a customer usage patterns, work with the customer and internal teams to develop a strategy for multi-region architecture.
  • Critical Thinking: Analyze and ask insightful questions across the multiple teams contributing to capacity planning. Understand both internal and external growth assumptions and critically review any assumptions or inputs that lack alignment.
  • Process Enhancement: Utilize insights from engagements and Root Cause Analyses to refine and automate processes, ensuring adherence to our high standards and driving ongoing enhancements.
  • Long-Term Planning: Champion long-term regional health initiatives by applying Regional Maxima principles, focusing on sustained customer success and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in product/service/project/program management, software development, data analysis or engineering experience and
  • Extensive experience in working with cross-team stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to drive projects, build buy-in and support.
  • Ability to thrive in environments with high levels of ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Math, or related field
  • Experience in Cloud Operations, Cloud Services, Complex collaboration
  • In-depth knowledge of a Hyperscale Clouds data center and network architecture
  • Experience in planning cloud specific infrastructure.
  • Extensive demonstrated experience leading and managing a business-critical function.
  • Ability to communicate and present complex analysis at the executive levels for alignment and decision making.
