In the Local Public Services Team, we care deeply about supporting Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Central Government Agencies to get the most out of the solutions they invest in. It is our responsibility to help Public Sector organisations in the UK to make better decisions that result in better care for the most vulnerable members of society. To do that, we need to help our customers become more productive, to get more from their data, and to digitize as many processes as possible to free up time for their people to offer fantastic services, care and compassion to those citizens who need it the most.

To help our customers achieve this, Microsoft have a broad team who bring diverse perspectives to our customers. Building alliances with varying stakeholders at our customer to support their Digital Transformation journey and to leverage AI.

This Sales Manager role will see the successful candidate lead a team of 7 Account Managers in Majors Growth. The candidate will be joining at an exciting time, being tasked with building a team made up of Account Managers coming together in a new format, with a new resource model to take to market.

As we build this new team, the incoming manager will be tasked with leading a new Rhythm of Business to manage this team, need to build a fantastic, high energy and inclusive culture in the team, with a passion to help make the UK a better place to live and thrive. The candidate will need to show a good understanding of how our partner network operates, and how we can work even more closely with the Partner network to help us move quickly through sales cycles through to value delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of the team
  • Leading the team in executing sales plays, refining sales plays, and building insight into what further campaigns the team needs
  • Working closely with Marketing and the Partner team to build out campaign rhythms on regional basis
  • Manage forecast for the business
  • Partner closely with DSE and GPS, and be the interface into these businesses for LPS Majors Growth
  • Executive sponsor to key partners supporting Majors Growth
  • Executive Sponsor for key customers

Team Mobiliser and Orchestrator: You will need to learn how to navigate Microsoft, work across functions, and the eco-system, understand the systems – all to maximise the value to your team. From exec sponsors to product experts & commercial leaders, you will need to be resourceful to ensure your team and customers are getting the full support across the organisation.

Sales Leader and Operational Excellence: Achieving results by understanding digital transformation drivers and customer priorities. Identifying new opportunities and helping the team enable their customers to accelerate their move to the digital age for their own benefit as well as their customers and stakeholders. Lead the team to deliver consistent, repeatable achievement of revenue and consumption targets

Sales Innovator: Continuously building industry and technical knowledge to identify new ways the team can engage the market to deliver new outcomes

Clear Communicator: You will be able to articulate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical, and impactful manner.

Inclusive Leader: With strong interpersonal skills you will create an inclusive culture within your team that embraces diversity and reflects our mission to empower every person and organisation on the planet to achieve more. You will have the ability to easily establish trust-based relationships and gain valuable insights through collaboration and communication with your customer and your team.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will offer, or be able to articulate:

  • Track record of engaging CxO’s
  • Extensive experience in Enterprise Sales, Business Consulting or Consultative Selling
  • Experience working closely with our Partner Network to deliver customer outcomes
  • Industry Knowledge is preferable, but not essential
  • Ability to make confident recommendations to C-level, business decision makers
