The Microsoft UK Public Sector business prides itself on supporting our government customers to deliver great citizen services and improve public sector productivity. The UK Central Government (CG) business work both directly with its customers and develops global and SME Partner relationships to deliver relevant, effective, and scalable technology solutions. The CG business sits within Microsoft’s UK Public Sector and covers our most strategic customers and some of largest departments of state.

Responsibilities

The role of the CG Strategic sales manager is to collaborate across the UK Public Sector business and develop a successful growth strategy and customer experience. The successful applicant will be expected to drive customer and partner relationships resulting in positive commercial outcomes and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, motivated team collaborator, with a track record of leading business development in customers and with experience in the Public sector. They will work with the account team and technical experts to define a strategy which continues to grow our business, whilst exceeding our customers’ expectations. Effective and inspirational team management will be a core expectation.

Key Accountabilities

  • Attract, retain, and develop talent to enable the team and business to grow
  • Promote diversity, and inclusion in the team and in all aspects of life at Microsoft
  • Inspire and engage a large team/v-team (60 plus)
  • Take our customers on a journey of digital transformation and move to the cloud
  • Take ownership for the customer experience
  • Meet or exceed revenue goals set by the business
  • Increase Microsoft’s credibility and depth of engagement in the sector
  • Engage and successfully drive partners around relevant solutions
  • Ensure that the customer gets best value from their investments by driving consumption of cloud services
  • Work closely with the Microsoft consulting organization to the benefit of the customer, partners, and Microsoft

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of the Public sector
  • Track record of performance
  • Proven executive level relationship skills
  • Proven team development skills
  • Experience of complex government organization environments
  • Knowledge of digital transformation in public sector

Desired experience:

  • Security clearance applicable to customer environment
  • Strong academic background and evidence of strategic thinking
  • Experience in selling cloud technologies.

Qualifications
