Responsibilities
- Translate concept and reference into high quality in-game visual effects whilst staying within frame performance.
- Work collaboratively with the Art/Design/Engineering disciplines to support and resolve gameplay challenges.
- Elevate visuals beyond expectation through collaboration with Technical Art and Rendering teams.
- Inspire, share with, and mentor other VFX and Technical Artists in the team.
- Reports to the Lead VFX Artist.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- A professional portfolio or VFX blog.
- Development experience with at least one full project cycle as a Senior VFX Artist.
- Experience in Game development or Film VFX production.
- Excellent knowledge of content creation packages (Houdini/Maya/Substance Designer/Embergen/etc).
- Effective time and team management skills to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Strong eye for quality.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Excellent artistic ability.
- Excellent eye for quality control and detail.
- Knowledge of languages such as VEX/HLSL is a bonus.
- A broad technical understanding with the capacity to learn and utilize new skills quickly.
- Experience with Unreal Engine or equivalent is a plus.
- Some knowledge of 3D graphics and rendering techniques especially lighting and shading would be a bonus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Well-organised and proactive.
- Able to take, interpret, and give criticism constructively.
