Responsibilities

  • Translate concept and reference into high quality in-game visual effects whilst staying within frame performance.
  • Work collaboratively with the Art/Design/Engineering disciplines to support and resolve gameplay challenges.
  • Elevate visuals beyond expectation through collaboration with Technical Art and Rendering teams.
  • Inspire, share with, and mentor other VFX and Technical Artists in the team.
  • Reports to the Lead VFX Artist.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • A professional portfolio or VFX blog.
  • Development experience with at least one full project cycle as a Senior VFX Artist.
  • Experience in Game development or Film VFX production.
  • Excellent knowledge of content creation packages (Houdini/Maya/Substance Designer/Embergen/etc).
  • Effective time and team management skills to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong eye for quality.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Excellent artistic ability.
  • Excellent eye for quality control and detail.
  • Knowledge of languages such as VEX/HLSL is a bonus.
  • A broad technical understanding with the capacity to learn and utilize new skills quickly.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine or equivalent is a plus.
  • Some knowledge of 3D graphics and rendering techniques especially lighting and shading would be a bonus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Well-organised and proactive.
  • Able to take, interpret, and give criticism constructively.
