Job Description

Microsoft Advertising empowers the largest advertisers around the world to reach their maximum potential through paid search engine marketing, native and retail solutions on the Microsoft Advertising platform. We are seeking top performing Account Managers with digital paid media advertising experience who can drive revenue and increase client satisfaction by owning the day-to-day client management and driving campaign-level budget upsell and optimization opportunities that align to ROI goals of client and drive incremental revenue.

The Client Solutions Manager (CSM) enables Microsoft to better serve clients by applying obsession to what clients care about and need, ensuring our Microsoft Advertising story is valued and understood, and building and maintaining strong, trusted-advisor relationships with day-to-day practitioner contacts at advertiser/agency/tool provider. The CSM drives both revenue and client satisfaction.

The CSM is a core member of the account team focused on driving data-driven optimizations aligned with client needs, executing campaigns, and driving strong coordination or internal resources for excellence in execution of core tasks, account transitions, and client account health. This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% away from the office.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively solicits feedback on additional needs, products, and features to develop targeted marketing strategies for clients; demonstrates a strong understanding of the client's business model to articulate growth opportunities; influences relevant stakeholders to drive change internally (e.g., Engineering, Marketing) and to enhance team capabilities, improve Microsoft offerings, and adapt Microsoft's messaging to client.
  • Proactively expands strategic network of key internal and external partners for customers to ensure execution of core tasks and account transactions, and to provide seamless account management experience; grows sales and partner impact and engages key partners to develop, share, and promote client plan strategies that meet Microsoft and client business needs; scales business across regions/segments or globally.
  • Becomes an expert of client accounts, proactively monitoring all account activities (e.g., what to prioritize, managing escalations, billing, revenue flow, budget changes) to ensure account health and elevate client's business.
  • Leverages relationships with key client contacts; seeks client feedback (both formal and informal) regarding ways to acquire/retain/grow more of their business and to identify and understand the drivers of satisfaction; helps in the creation of long-term strategies aimed at maintaining levels of client satisfaction; anticipates issues/risks on customer satisfaction, identifies drivers of dissatisfaction, determines the root cause of problems, and removes blockers; establishes recovery action plan to improve client's overall experience.
  • Educates clients on Microsoft's strategy and other products and services as well as the benefits of the Microsoft Advertising platform and other features of the digital portfolio; establishes the business value of Microsoft's advertising services and their competitive advantages; tailors solutions that perform to clients' key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Adopts Microsoft sales strategies (e.g., Challenger Sale), identifying clients' needs and uses it as the basis for tailored sales approach; handles main objections from clients.
  • Proactively leverages Unified Client Management (UCM) functionality (e.g., account management, opportunities, tracking and reporting), other tools (e.g., customized performance dashboards, data, insights), ad hoc opportunities, and directed tactics to identify ways to increase performance, satisfaction, and upsell opportunities that link back to client's key performance indicators (KPIs) and result in revenue growth; guides others in using UCM and shares best practices; drives product and tactic improvement through UCM; recommends relevant One Microsoft solutions to external clients.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant work experience (e.g., Sales, Advertising, or Marketing with a focus on digital advertising)
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND relevant work experience (e.g., Sales, Advertising, or Marketing with a focus on digital advertising)
    • OR Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND relevant work experience (e.g., Sales, Advertising, or Marketing with a focus on digital advertising)
    • OR equivalent exerience
  • Demonstrated understanding of the online advertising industry including current trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed revenue goals or targets.
  • Proven ability to understand customer needs, create and deliver customised, customer-focused pitches and solutions.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience of online media and search engine marketing experience.
