Job Description

Microsoft AI’s (“MAI”) Mission is to use AI responsibly to make everyone more informed, capable, and supported. MAI is responsible for Microsoft’s consumer propositions including Copilot, Bing, MSN, Microsoft Advertising, and Edge, as well as developing proprietary foundational AI models. MAI works closely with a variety of teams across Microsoft and across the full AI stack to deliver on Microsoft’s AI ambitions.

We are growing the Business and Strategy team, part of the office of the CEO of MAI, to assist with the creation and implementation of the overarching strategy of MAI, as well as drive business operations.

The candidate should have a proven track record and strong skills in business strategy, business operations, communications, and internal stakeholder management. An ability to anticipate and respond quickly as new opportunities and partner situations arise is critical.

As a Business Strategy Specialist and member of the office of the CEO of MAI team, this opportunity will allow you to serve as a trusted advisor and you will be an important contributor supporting the broader strategic and operational needs of the team. This role includes a variety of responsibilities including analyzing markets, emerging trends, and strategic initiatives, as well as contributing to managing the rhythm of business. This role will also assist with the development of the overarching strategy for the organization and key product teams. In addition you will be able to accelerate your career growth, develop deep business acumen, and become adept at turning analysis into strategic and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • You will conduct market-based research and analyses, and create initial framing for strategic questions with limited input.
  • You’ll also synthesize findings into insights across projects, and leverage those insights to develop recommendations and ideas around potential growth opportunities.
  • You will communicate and advocate insights to senior business leaders.
  • You’ll also convey viewpoints through written documents and influence models through moderate iterations, build end-to-end storylines, and deliver project findings and recommendations to senior executives.
  • As you establish and maintain key points of contact with internal teams, you’ll cultivate relationships with leaders of internal teams.
  • You’ll also act as an advisor to senior leadership on a particular area of expertise to inform strategic business decisions.
  • You will contribute to large strategy projects while also defining and managing small projects (with guidance as needed) as well as contributing to managing the rhythm of business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, or related field AND experience in marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience
  • OR equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications (PQs)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, or related field AND experience in marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience
  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND experience in marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience
  • OR equivalent experience
  • Experience in Strategy, Management Consulting, and/or Finance
