Vice President, International Markets Corporate Affairs & Global Internal Communications

Based in Paddington, London

The Vice President, International Markets Corporate Affairs & Global Internal Communications drives corporate reputation, public policy engagement and Associate communications across Rapid Growth Markets (Mexico, Brazil, South Latam, India, Southeast Asia) as well as Developed Asia (China, Japan, Australia/New Zealand) for Mars Pet Nutrition. In addition to regional leadership of Corporate Affairs, this role will also be responsible for leading Mars Pet Nutrition’s global internal communications strategy and central team aiming to build pride and engagement for its 20,000+ Associates around the world in pursuit of our Purpose to make A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS.

This role reports directly to the Global VP, Corporate Affairs, Mars Pet Nutrition with dotted line to Regional Presidents for Rapid Growth Markets and Developed Asia.

What are we looking for?

  • Extensive experience of working in senior corporate affairs roles
  • Experience in both developed and international markets, with varied roles across the broader corporate affairs field (marketing & corporate comms expertise with internal, external and global comms experience preferred)
  • Experience leading, managing and developing a team

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Create conditions for business success by protecting Mars Pet Nutrition’s freedom to operate, managing and shaping external issues/policies; promoting corporate reputation based on the way we do business, our brands and our Purpose; managing Crisis and media relations; change and transformation communications; as well as fostering quality and consistency of internal and external communications that drive business results and mobilize Associates.
  • Full accountability for the Corporate Affairs function across Pet Nutrition in Rapid Growth Markets and Developed Asia, setting the CA strategy in line with Division priorities and Mars, Inc strategies, operationally leading the team across multiple countries.
  • Strategic driver of Public Affairs agenda across Rapid Growth Markets and Developed Asia enabling meaningful, measurable outcomes through regulatory actions that create A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS.
  • Leadership of global Strategic Business Comms strategy and team; digital and strategy communications; proudly Pet Nutrition sponsor to drive Associate ambassadorship and employer branding support.
