UK Sales Promotion Planner

The Sales Promotion Planner will work closely with the Sales Teams and Customer Collaboration implants to create and manage the sales promotions forecast, for specific complex and partner customers and customer groups within the UK Market.

The forecast is a critical Input to the total demand plan which is used to drive production planning, scheduling and material requirements planning within the supply chain and to support business and financial processes & reporting.

What would be your key responsibilities?

The Sales Promotions Planner is required to have a broad understanding of market dynamics and supply capability within FMCG industries. Working closely with Account Managers and Account teams, the jobholder is responsible for creating and managing a robust and assumptions based volume/value sales promotions forecast. This forecast input is a critical building block for the consensus Demand Forecast.

The jobholder uses knowledge, experience, Sales history, input from Account Managers, Market and Category data, Sales systems data, customer collaboration and input on upcoming market plans to create an account sales promotions forecast at item level. Activity performance should be reviewed on an ongoing basis and any risks to the forecast highlighted

it is essential to develop a close relationship with the Supply Chain Implants to ensure that there is an aligned Mars Petcare activity plan for each Account.

The jobholder will be required to:-

  • Monitor promo events and EPOS data whilst they are in-store, as an Input to promo planning review.

  • Monitor overstocks and Inform Demand Planner when action is required.

  • Through event reviews amend the assumptions and future sales promotions forecast accordingly.

  • Align on assumptions with the account manager prior to periodic S&OP+ submission.

  • Instigate any learnings around WOW, ordering patterns, and the collation of event history with the account teams.

  • Forecast the short and medium term sales promotions planning horizon for both volume and spend, (0-24 months).

  • Together with the Demand Planning team, this role has a shared accountability for P-3, P-1 and P-0 Forecast Accuracy and Bias and demand driven deletions.

  • We are looking for an ambitious and motivated individual who can demonstrate high learning agility and future potential and has a desire to progress within customer logistics and the wider business.

  • Ideally the candidate will have systems aptitude and ability to learn new systems.

  • Supply chain experience, whilst not essential would greatly benefit your application.

  • Our role will require individuals to be flexible with regards to working bank holidays
