Location: All Royal Canin Offices (France: Aimargues, Germany : Köln, Poland: Modlniczka, UK: Castle Cary, Denmark: Copenhagen, Spain: Madrid, Portugal : Lisbon)

Type of contract : Permanent

This role reports to the European SRM and Pricing Director. The main purpose is to develop and drive the Royal Canin European Pricing & SRM strategy through the specific capability of Pricing and to support its deployment across all 28 markets in the European Union, incl. operational tools & best practice sharing. The role interacts directly with local markets, enabling analysis and development of optimized pricing and pack-price architectures. As the lead of the Europe Pricing practice this expert role drives improved SRM pricing capabilities across markets, strengthening local delivery of superior portfolio, brand and channel pricing activities.

What are we looking for?

This role requires strong commercial, leadership and influencing capability with the ability to build effective working relationships and engage with stakeholders both internally and externally.

Knowledge/Experience

  • Experience partnering across the organization to analyze a range of internal & external data sources, drawing out key insights and forming recommendations on the basis of solid consumer and commercial knowledge with strong linkage to business strategy.

  • A track record of successfully translating strategies into action and delivering results; comfortable presenting to and engaging with Sr. Leaders or forums simplifying complex Concepts and Strategies.

  • Proven functional/technical understanding and know-how across pricing specifically:

​- Pricing Strategy (Critical) – demonstrated understanding of the strategic & operational impacts of price-value decisions across the 5C’s (i.e. Category, Consumer, Customer, Competitor, Company).

- Pricing Analysis (Critical) – direct experience in, monitoring & analyzing market pricing and internal brand pricing architectures. Scenario planning direct and indirect portfolio cost pricing changes and the levers that can be used to maximize profit and growth.

- Pricing Implementation (Preferred) – An understanding of the end to end steps required to deploy cost price changes within a market.

  • Astute commercial and financial skills with excellent organization agility, understanding the impacts of decisions on the P&L, with the ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills and ‘can-do’ attitude with strong influencing & problem solving capabilities; ability to challenge the status quo and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

What will be your key responsibilities?

The primary objectives for the SRM Pricing Strategy Leader are to:

  • Build pricing capabilities across markets. The European SRM Pricing Strategy Leader drives design and deployment of strategic pricing, leveraging best pricing practice business processes to support local capabilities. This includes partnering with Europe and Global teams for pricing tool deployment and local compliance, ensuring consistent monitoring of price value performance and assessment of future state pack-price architecture recommendations at the market level.

  • Guide market development of portfolio pricing analysis, strategy and price-value actions. This includes direct collaboration with local teams to help assess and action plan against real market challenges and opportunities. Key components of this thought leadership and support are to champion a holistic Price Value Chain through S&OP+ process cycles, ensuring local teams anticipate & integrate category, consumer and customer) and competitive impacts in all pricing recommendations & execution plans

  • Deliver versatile SRM support at the regional level. This includes regular connectivity with local SRM Director and peers and spans the full suite of four SRM pillars. This organization structure leverages the breadth & depth of Regional team capabilities

  • Delivering Floor Prices guidance, governance and monitoring. This includes supporting input as part of the OP process and delivering guidance and floor prices for New launches & governance monitoring, interactions with systems and team for prices maintenance across all of the European units

The Key responsibilities are:

  • Lead the Regional Strategic & Tactical Pricing

Establish strong relationships, create regular contact with local units, earning recognition across the region as the center of excellence for strategic & tactical pricing. This responsibility involves providing expert guidance for local units, development of integrated strategic Pricing recommendations and tactical expertise in the execution of Price-Value actions for core & NPD items across channels. Support also includes guiding a consumer framework for markets to optimise pack-price architecture ensuring effective in-market pricing.

Deploy best in class pricing playbooks/share best practice examples

Lead the design, deployment and local leverage strategic pricing playbooks, operational guidance and success stories, accelerating local Pricing capabilities and ensuring markets have direct access to best in class Pricing reference materials. This effort includes collaborating with Global RC CMI teams to develop Pricing analytics and decision support tools.

  • Drive implementation of local Pricing

Ensure markets create and operate best practice to properly assess, develop, execute and monitor net pricing improvement plans. This includes driving a local mindset shift to anticipate and integrate the impacts of any actions across the entire Price Value Chain (i.e., consumers, customers, company and competition.)

  • Champion healthy Pricing Corridors & Cross Border Operations compliance

Enable and monitor regional creation of pricing corridors for SKUs, ensuring consistent annual planning, and issue escalation processes across local/regional team.

  • Provide efficient and effective MWC SRM Regional Support

Regularly partner and directly connect with local SRM/PHs, offering guidance and expertise across the four SRM pillars of Pricing, Trade Terms, Mix and Promotions. This includes developing close working relationships with Market, accelerating SRM capabilities development within the units/region and helping drive local SRM performance.
