Base Location - Slough

Salary £50,000 - £60,000 dependent on experience plus annual bonus and great benefits

This role will work as a change agent on optimizing performance and driving value leadership. The job is to be a “catalyst for change” and you will initiate and drive game-changing workstreams to optimize our conversion cost structure and support Mars to become a more efficient, agile, and lean company. This role will give you growth and development opportunities towards leadership, a true end-to-end understanding of the business and huge exposure across a wide range of stakeholders.

As an Process Engineering Lead, you will play a significant role in the development of our local supply strategies in close collaboration with a vast stakeholder network both on site and in the wider regional teams. The role supports the execution of these strategies, generates financial viability of initiatives, proposes a range of options for the delivery of strategies, puts together compelling projects, drives operational excellence, and establishes a high level of networking to ensure importing and mixing ideas between the supply local teams and other teams in the network.

The role provides Key Performance Metrics (KPIs) analysis that allow to identify improvement opportunities to support the achievement of the short-, medium- and long-term business objectives. Using Continuous Improvement methodologies, the Industrial Engineer guides and coach initiatives that will enable the implementation of lean techniques to achieve optimisation of existing and new processes.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Economics or equivalent

  • Strong experience in Production or Supply Chain roles

  • Knowledge of internal manufacturing and major business processes, FMCG would be a benefit

  • Significant change management experience

  • Understanding of improvement tools as SIXSIGMA, Kaizen, 5S

  • Ability to work cross functionally with Senior Leaders and stakeholders

  • Track record in leading step-change initiatives / Best practice roll out

  • Eager to analyse and inspired by maximizing value

  • Proficient English level

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead the Conception and Initiation of Capital Projects ensuring alignment with idea owners and relevant stakeholders.

  • Deliver the capital writing project phase with relevant information, including but not limited to project justification, problem statement, financial benefits, project metrics, capital forecast, technical description.

  • Deliver insights to drive Operational Excellence across manufacturing areas.

  • Analyse the evaluation of KPIs on a weekly, and periodical basis to identify trends and improvement opportunities and discuss these insights with Area Owners

  • Develops reports and analysis to support the Area Owners in identification and execution of their performance improvement plans (eg TRS/Productivity)

  • Challenges and influences the status-quo to drive the right priority projects to optimize production costs (COGS/MCC/Non Quality costs/stock) and deliver the cost reduction agenda.

  • Represent the supply teams in new initiatives (QUEST) that could generate change to current ways of working aiming to develop optimal solutions and provide analysis through communication with Engineering/Operational teams.

  • Work together with the segment and central IEs to improve the segment performance on a European basis and support long-term shape of Supply capabilities.

  • Be responsible to manage and control local budget, supporting project write-up, budget control, and leading budget update meeting to relevant stakeholders.

  • Be a strategic site partner in areas like CAB, OPEX, financial target setting, sourcing strategy and the site masterplan.
