Step into the role of a Senior Portfolio Manager with Mars Global Services (MGS), specifically in our Research & Development Solutions (RDS) division at Mars Inc. This position offers the opportunity to partner with various business units to develop and implement strategic plans. You’ll manage a diverse portfolio of RDS-related projects, each designed to shape the experiences of our Associates and contribute to their success at Mars. By aligning these projects with our organizational goals, you’ll play a key role in monitoring performance and leading the planning, scheduling, and reporting of portfolio-related activities
What are we looking for?
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, Engineering or Computer Science is required.
- Certifications: A Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP), Management of Portfolio (MoP) or similar certification would be highly advantageous.
- Experience: We’re seeking someone with at least 7-10 years of experience in Portfolio Management, Program Director or Transformation Director roles, ideally with a proven track record of managing complex portfolios.
- Professional Skills: The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities
- A solid understanding of project and portfolio management methodologies
- Proficiency in project management software, Service Now preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
- Effective presentation and meeting facilitation skills
- The ability to operate at ‘C’ level and build strong relationships
- The capacity to deliver results in a matrixed organization
- A good understanding of financial management and benefits realization
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Portfolio Management: Develop and implement strategic integrated plans for managing a diverse portfolio of projects.
- Demand Intake: Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of proposed RDS projects.
- Stakeholder Management: Influence stakeholder attitudes, decisions, and actions for mutual benefit.
- Risk Management: Identify, monitor, and manage risks across the RDS portfolio.
- Centre of Excellence Alignment: Form strong relationship with Center of Excellence who set governance and standards across all Mars Global Services portfolios.
- Resource Allocation & Budget Management: Advise on effective RDS resource allocations across projects to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present detailed reports and insights on RDS portfolio performance.
