Senior Manager, Procurement Effectiveness - Partnering & Performance, Europe

Reporting to VP MGS Indirect Procurement Europe

Slough based – Hybrid (1 or 2 days onsite)

You will be responsible for performance managing the MGS European Commercial (Indirect Procurement) team to deliver success to, and delight MGS Indirect Procurement customers from all business segments. You are accountable for recommending multi-year targets across key measures (including savings, cash & NPS); tracking delivery against these targets; leading regular segment engagements & performance reviews; highlighting successes and escalating risks & opportunities.

You will be responsible for running annual operating plans in line with the segment’s expectations as well as drive a multi-year plan. The indirect procurement spend within the scope of this role’s responsibility is $3 bln. This role supports all segments of Mars including Mars Petcare, Mars Royal Canine, Mars Food & Nutrition and Mars Snacking.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in Procurement related fields, experience in Indirects is an advantage
  • History of building high quality internal and external relationships and interaction with management at all levels
  • Working in complex internal organization setting – partnering and influencing across functions and markets regionally and globally
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Demonstrable leadership ability of planning, managing and delivering complex projects at a cross-functional or enterprise-wide level
  • Strong change management credentials, ability to develop a compelling vision & execute the strategy with excellence
  • Strong business acumen, analytical & quantitative skills
  • Ability to drive for results in the pursuit of challenging stretch goals
  • Proven ability to make sound decisions in complex and/or ambiguous business environments

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Oversee the regional MGS Indirect Procurement program across all areas of Indirect Procurement, implementing a multi-year savings pipeline to ensure delivery of results year over year
  • Develop & lead the regional segment engagement plan & governance to drive strategic collaboration and accelerate performance between MGS Indirect Procurement and the segments
  • Provide a connection point between the MGS Indirect Procurement and regional segment leadership teams to provide visibility of performance, identify opportunities & risks, and escalate issues where appropriate
  • Role model brilliant business partnering with our segment stakeholders to maximize value of service to our customers and simplify the user experience
  • Partner as required to scale and mature the MGS Indirect Procurement Voice of the Customer activities. Provide insights back to relationship managers and MGS Indirect Procurement leadership. Monitor improvement plans.
  • Drive a performance-based mindset through KPIs to successfully embed a performance culture with MGS Indirect Procurement and the business
  • Contribute strongly to the development, communication, and delivery of the agreed business objectives and key performance indicators
  • Champion “Mindsets and Behaviors” activities across the organization.
  • Support MGS Indirect Procurement long term strategy execution as required.
