Mars Petcare is leading an unprecedented Digital change agenda as part of its 'Digitization at Scale' strategy. This role will lead the Petcare Digital Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (its people, process, governance, tools and portfolio) for the segment, and partner with the Petcare Digital Technology Leadership Team, Divisional PMO teams and wider business leaders in helping to drive this ambitious portfolio of change. This role will help lead the promotion of increasing and harmonising our Portfolio Management capabilities across the Segment and its Divisions to support our mutualisation agenda. Finally, this role acts as a Chief of Staff to the Petcare Chief Information Officer supporting the management of the Global Petcare Digital Leadership Team, delivering special projects when required and owning the Petcare Digital Communications activities.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven project, programme and/or portfolio management leadership and management capability with 8+ years practical experience
  • Proven success at managing and implementing multiple large scale projects or portfolios of projects delivering value in the business
  • Demonstrated strategic agility and business acumen
  • Comfort around and ability to collaborate and influence senior management
  • Proven ability to work effectively across diverse audiences and at all levels
  • Strong Facilitation skills
  • Experience / comfort operating in a global, matrix environment and influencing beyond reporting lines
  • Demonstrated people leadership capability to mobilize resources and engage teams around challenging deliverables
  • Experience in Business analysis and business processes (preferred)
  • Experience of working in or close association with the IT function, technology management (preferred)

What will be your key responsibilities?

Segment Digital Enterprise Portfolio Management Lead

  • Lead the key shifts agreed as part of the Enterprise PMO strategy - 1) Single Source of Truth, 2) Governance, 3) Roles & Responsibilities and 4) Maturity.
  • Single Source of Truth: Provide and maintain visibility, insight, assurance, standards and oversight of the Petcare Segment portfolio roadmap, portfolio level risks, resources, value and finances
  • Governance: Enable segment leadership to make informed decisions about portfolio prioritisation and delivery orchestration of the highest priority programmes helping to optimise for value. Support preparation of Petcare Digital executive level governance forums. Provide support to Segment Finance lead and CIO for strategic planning cycles and ongoing portfolio prioritisation.
  • Roles & Responsibilities: Establish and lead the Petcare Digital ePMO (Enterprise PMO) Office and its associates. Align standards and roles closer to industry standards.
  • Maturity: Leading a better connected PMO organisation through promoting and embedding more consistent ways of working across our segment's divisions (where it makes sense). Continue to measure the overall PMO organisation's effectiveness and capabilities against industry best practice.

Chief of Staff for Petcare Chief Information Officer

  • Supporting the management of the Global Petcare Digital Technology Leadership Team including planning and preparation of periodic virtual sessions and half-yearly face to face sessions
  • Owning the Petcare Digital Communications activities to connect more than 200 associates globally with the Petcare Digital Strategy e.g. Petcare Digital Town Halls planning and facilitation
  • Delivering special projects as required in support of the Petcare Digital Leadership Team
