Operations Manager
Location: Melton

Are you ready to lead and inspire teams in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment?

We're looking for an operations manager who is passionate about people leadership, driving performance, and ensuring excellence in safety and quality.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity for growth, including succession potential for director level roles through delivery of strong results alongside a focussed personal development plan. The ideal candidate will have an operational and technical background, providing a strong foundation for understanding complex manufacturing processes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • People-Focused Leader: Proven ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams in a manufacturing setting.

  • Operational Expertise: Minimum 2-3 years leading complex, high-speed manufacturing operations across multiple lines.

  • Strategic Thinker: Strong background in managing balanced scorecards/KPIs, including safety, quality, efficiency, and cost.

  • Problem-Solver: Skilled in continuous improvement, lean principles e.g. six sigma, and driving operational excellence.

  • Tech-Savvy: Experience with automation and digital manufacturing tools, with the ability to train and support teams in adopting new technology.

  • Technical Background: A degree or relevant qualification in a technical or business field is preferred, providing the expertise necessary for effective leadership in complex manufacturing operations.

  • Growth Potential: Ready to develop into a future business leader, for example Plant Manager, with strong leadership and decision-making abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead & Develop Teams: Manage and mentor pouch operating teams across multiple lines and shifts, fostering a high-performance culture through coaching, engagement, and continuous development.

  • Inspire & Integrate: Build a strong team dynamic by ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and alignment with business goals.

  • Drive Operational Success: Implement and manage manufacturing execution plans to meet and exceed KPIs, focusing on efficiency, cost, and continuous improvement.

  • Champion Safety & Quality: Lead initiatives to maintain the highest standards in food safety and workplace safety while instilling a safety-first mindset in your team.

  • Innovate with Automation & Digital Execution: Leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency while ensuring teams are trained and confident in digital tools.

  • Be a visible and collaborative Leader: Play a critical role in the Site Leadership Team (SLT), fostering strong relationships through collaboration with other functions. Support the Plant Manager and develop leadership skills for future advancement.
