Mars has begun a wide-ranging marketing transformation project, focused on developing a new Agency ecosystem across the business. Petcare is key within this transformation, with Pet Nutrition a significant share of current investment, and a variety of future-facing businesses that operate with a mix of established and nascent consumer models. Petcare must ensure that the Agency Ecosystem transformation enables the continued growth of Pet Nutrition brands, supercharges the growth of MVH and D2C brands, and creates a connected Pet Parent experience across the Mars Petcare portfolio.

The Project will cover all areas of the Pet nutrition business, both internally and across external marketing agency partners. Within Petcare, Pet Nutrition has the most developed and complex current agency needs and ensuring the needs of these businesses are properly represented, and implementation smoothly delivered are paramount. The Project has four phases, with three remaining which require stakeholder and project management to realize the benefits rapidly and minimize disruption in the organization. This requires the development and execution of a well-considered project implementation plan, aligned to the wider Petcare & Mars business timings.

This Project Management (PM) role is pivotal in ensuring this project is planned and managed clearly, enabling Pet Nutrition to meet its internal needs whilst aligning to the wider Mars transformation project timings. This role will focus on the Media agency development within Pet Nutrition. Working directly with the PN global team, partnering with the Agency Ecosystem core team, external partners & other Petcare PMs, the Associate will develop and own and the project management plan for this area. The plan will address the project requirements across the business and track the development and delivery of these to stakeholders, identifying the most efficient and effective path to understanding and achieving the program's committed objectives. A clear understanding of the impacts of the program and the Mars organization is essential.

'This is a 12-month FTC (Fixed Term Contract) role'.

What are we looking for?

  • Project management qualification (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalent experience as a project manager.

  • Experience running commercial marketing projects at scale

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Creating & Owning Change Project Plan

The Associate will lead the development and implementation of a Pet Nutrition Media Project plan to support the enterprise-wide Agency Ecosystem review process and implementation. This includes defining project scope, KPIs, goals and deliverables, creating a project schedule and timeline, defining tasks and allocating required resources. The Associate will work closely with the entire transformation office, overseen by the Pet Nutrition Global Media Director.

  • ​Stakeholder Management and Communication

As part of the change project, the Associate is responsible for building and maintaining working relationships with the Agency Ecosystem core team, Pet Nutrition Global Team PMOs, external media partners and other Petcare business leads as required. The Associate will ensure that all stakeholders are engaged in a timely and appropriate way for all project requirements, inputs and outputs, collaborating with leadership & project comms teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with the project's objectives.

  • Project Efficiency & Effectiveness

The Associate will work with other project PMOs to analyze the project plans and identify the most efficient and effective way to deliver the project objectives. The Associate will work closely with the team to select appropriate project improvements and then will be responsible for implementing and tracking delivery.

  • Project reporting & tracking

The Associate will be responsible for organizing and leading regular team project meetings with the aim of capturing project progress KPIs, and identifying any opportunities or blockers. Communicate project updates to stakeholder groups as needed, detailing progress as well as problems and solutions, including updates to senior leadership.
