The role of the Internal Audit Manager EMEA is to lead and participate operational, strategic, and financial audits, as well as consulting projects within the EMEA region. The manager will oversee audits and consulting engagements across various X-Segments and X-functions. They will be responsible for delivering the annual Internal Audit plan, contributing to strategy development and execution, and acting as a point of contact and knowledge partner for EMEA S&F stakeholders, driving governance and the risk agenda. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to support cross-regional audits and initiatives, delivering value for global S&F and other functions (ESG, Commercial, P&O, etc.). The manager will also play a crucial role in supporting the business with the design and implementation of remediation plans.

The Internal Audit Manager EMEA will report directly to the EMEA Internal Audit Director and will be a part of a dedicated team of nine internal audit managers focused on the EMEA region. Building strong relationships with key stakeholders is vital for this role, as it positions the manager as a trusted business partner.

What are we looking for?

  • You hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field, along with relevant professional accounting qualifications such as ACA, CIA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA.

  • You bring at least 5 years of experience in External or Internal Audit, preferably within Big 4 firms or in the FMCG sector (or 5 years at Mars in Strategy & Finance)

  • You have a proven ability to work effectively in international and multicultural environments and have demonstrated experience in influencing and leading without formal authority.

  • You showcase effective leadership capabilities, adeptly communicating and engaging with stakeholders.

  • You excel at presenting and defending viewpoints, with a focus on strategic perspective and big-picture thinking.

  • You are adaptable, able to transition across different business segments, from veterinary to confectionery.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Participate in new audits and consultative engagements including core insurance, compliance, operational, and strategic areas.

  • Lead new audits and consultative engagements in core assurance, compliance, operational, and strategic areas.

  • Performs audit procedures which involve developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting management processes and procedures.

  • Conduct interviews, review documents, develop and administer surveys, compose summary memos, and preparing working papers.

  • Identify, develop, and documents audit issues and recommendations for improvement exercising independent judgment regarding the areas under review.

  • Communicate audit projects results through timely written reports and oral presentations to management.

  • Follow-up on the remediation status of agreed management actions.

  • Support IA Initiatives such as revising audit programs or implementing data analytics procedures.

  • Represent IA in Financial Controller communities or other relevant communities to share best practices.
