Background

Pet Nutrition (PN) is the most vibrant category in the FMCG sector. As we work to transform this exciting category, a series of programs and products are launched as part of our ambitious Digital Transformation.

Our Digital Transformation will enable us to better address pet-parents needs and wants, and we will do so by driving an aggressive standardization agenda, reducing our IT landscape complexity, enabling agility and driving efficiency. To be future ready and win in the market, we need to be forward thinking, anticipating future trends impacting pet-parents behaviors by introducing next gen capability in our architecture step changing what we do in a secure and reliable manner. This program will aim to design and implement shared processes and capabilities at two levels – firstly at corporate (Mars Inc), secondly at Mars Petcare. This intentional mutualization where possible whilst finetune for the division (PN) is a challenging approach and requires significant thought leadership and pragmatism.

The role

This new role, the Head of Digital Enablement (Pet Nutrition), has been created to lead the value creation through automation and optimization from the divisional (PN) side.

The Head of Digital Enablement will be responsible for setting a clear roadmap for automation, aligning execution efforts with value creation and strategic thinking. This role will expand the use of automation, process intelligence, and process mining to enhance agility and optimize current tech stacks for manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution processes, creating exceptional value. The Head of Digital Enablement will lead a team of digital experts to drive innovation and efficiency across the organization.

This role is responsible for representing PN at Petcare and corporate governance group to ensure automation and optimization decisions are made in a mutual fashion and PN needs are taken into account.

You will work closely with the PN Global process owners, other enterprise architects and key global resources. As a member of the PN Architecture of Tomorrow team, you are individually and collectively accountable for the performance of Digital technology offerings globally across Mars PetNutrition.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of automation technologies, process intelligence, and process mining for a large-scale CPG (or adjacent industry) organisation
  • Automation Technologies:
    • In-depth knowledge of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Blue Prism.
    • Familiarity with Intelligent Automation (IA) platforms like Microsoft Power Automate, Pega Platform, and IBM Robotic Process Automation.
  • Process Intelligence and Process Mining:
    • Expertise in process mining tools such as Celonis, Signavio Process Intelligence, and ABBYY Timeline.
    • Proficiency in using IBM Process Mining and SAP Signavio for process optimization.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to drive change and foster a culture of innovation.
  • Ability to navigate complex matrix organsation

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and manage multiple priorities

What will be your key responsibilities?

Primary accountabilities

Strategic Roadmap Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive digital enablement strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals and objectives.
  • Create and maintain a clear roadmap for automation and digital transformation initiatives.

Automation and Process Optimization:

  • Lead the expansion of automation technologies across PetNutrition.
  • Utilize process intelligence and process mining to identify and optimize current technology stacks for manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution processes.
  • Enhance agility and responsiveness in manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution processes.
  • Expand the use of automation and process intelligence/mining to enhance agility and efficiency.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead a team of digital enablement professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive digital transformation.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Collaborate with product owners, program directors, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and provide valuable insights on technology roadmaps.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and successes to senior leadership and other stakeholders.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of digital initiatives.

Monitor and analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions
