Mars Global Services (MGS) remains a critical enabler for Mars Inc. delivering business value through industry best processes, technologies & data insights. As part of the Digital Technologies, the Enterprise Applications & Analytics team partners closely with the Corporate & MGS service lines to deliver key strategic priorities enabled through ‘best in class’ technologies & capabilities. Program & project management continues to fundamental capabilities supporting such significant digital change, and as a result this has created an exciting opportunity for a PMO Senior Lead to join the Digital Technologies Enterprise Applications & Analytics (EAA) team.

This is a key programme delivery leadership role and oversees FinTech’s strategic PMO function, managing large interconnected portfolio of strategic, transformation & BAU programs/initiatives. They will partner alongside portfolio management & program teams to ensure effective planning, oversight and execution, including that tools and controls accurately reflect the status of delivery activities, in service of establishing a well-integrated high performing PMO function & enabling technology delivery.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead programme management office (PMO), driving large complex programme delivery in a multi-vendor environment for S/4 Hana finance & supporting finance satellite systems.
  • Implement PMO standards, tools and processes, related to project planning, reporting, change control, risk management and quality checks.
  • Deliver PMO operational standards in partnership with wider Corp FinTech’s portfolio office, integrate capabilities that drive connected insights on resourcing, schedule, scope, cost etc.
  • Build program plans, overlaying resource needs, manage cross-workstream interdependencies to drive efficiency, reporting accuracy, and compliance with IT control standards.
  • Collaborate with Finance functional teams to maintain a credible centralized plan inclusive of FinTech’s strategic, transformation & BAU projects.
  • Produce PMO reporting and insights with content suitable for different levels of the org e.g. exec level, program level, project level.
  • Manage RAID effectively, identify risks/issues and escalate to appropriate governance forums producing meaningful insights that drive appropriate action. support workstreams in risk/issue management, dependency tracking, and status reporting.
  • Lead integrated planning workshops to discover and manage portfolio interdependencies.
  • Optimize PMO resource allocation, foster cross functional collaboration, and provide transparent visibility into project delivery managing software delivery lifecycle (SDCL).
  • Lead team of PMO resources, driving consistency & rigor of program delivery in service of FinTech's & DT EAA's roadmap

What are we looking for?

  • PMO professional with 15+ years in multiple enterprise implementations including leading SAP ECC to S/4HANA transitions and finance system deployments for global organizations.
  • Proficient in SAP activate methodology & general SDLC best practice.
  • Obtained project management qualifications (PMP, Prince2 or equivalents) – highly desirable
  • Understanding of financial systems e.g. ERP (SAP ECC, S/4 Hana, Rise), integrations, middleware & supporting solutions (SAP CFin, PaPM, Blackline, High Radius, OpenText VIM, MDG etc)
  • Experienced at overseeing deliveries using Waterfall, Agile and SAFe methodologies - ensuring continued business success through deployment to run state.
  • Knowledge of project management & demand management tools (Smartsheet, ServiceNOW SPM, JIRA, MS Project Management, Monday.com)
  • Ability to work cooperatively at all levels in a matrix environment, ead by example and drive team morale & work-effectively with others.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, sharing updates into different exec forums & at project/program level meetings.
  • Experience providing clear work direction and leadership to project teams, can influence others without direct reporting lines.
  • Excellent understanding of industry standard project management methodologies (e.g. SDLC, Waterfall, Agile (Kanban, Scrum, SaFe)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business, or related field
