Salary: Circa £39,400 - £49,200 + Bonus + Benefits

The Engineer Process Development is an important role within Mars Wrigley R&D. This role is part of the Global Process Development and Deployment team and responsible for the development, design, and deployment of new processes to support global Innovation, Freedom to Operate, and Sustainability programs as well as complex regional projects requiring process development expertise. This role is part of a team that provides deep technical process understanding and works with cross-functional teams to develop process insights to drive innovation.

The successful candidate will work with the global R&D teams, Engineering, Operations, Commercial and Regional teams to develop processes from concept to finished process specifications. The Engineer Process Development will input into the manufacturing process for all projects within the allocated scope, including existing processes and the development of the detailed process specification of any new process for current, new factories and co-manufacturers.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor of Science or degree equivalent in engineering, chemical engineering or a technical area including chemistry, or food science

  • Proven Project management skills in leading NPD projects as a technical member on a cross-functional team

  • Hands on experience in the development and successful launch of new products, packages and processes

  • Strong influencing Skills

  • Experience working in factories, Lab or pilot plants

  • Excellent communication skills and learning agility

  • Proven track record of managing complex projects with cross functional teams


What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Responsible for delivering process development activities

  • Accountable for the execution of allocated programs to bring project through to commercialisation

  • Maintains and implements Global Process Standards

  • Ensures that the process development elements deliver against DFVS

  • Supporting Global Factory Innovation and Engineering in implementing, Innovating, and optimising current and future assets

  • Ensures that the process development process is carried out such that timelines are met to market products

  • Ensures that the process specifications are as accurate as possible to ensure correct costing

  • Ensures that Process quality and Manufacturing quality performance measures standards and corrective actions are specified for each new and current process to ensure performance at the required level for all manufactured products
