The Data & AI Stewardship Lead of Finance & Strategy is part of the Chief Data Office Organization within Mars Snacking, directly supporting the Global Director of Data & AI Stewardship and Delivery – Finance & Strategy. In this pivotal role, the lead will be partnering with Finance Business partners and transformational Network Leads to effectively analyze, document, optimize and orchestrate all aspects of enterprise data, including the underpinning of analytics and AI.

The role holder will also be responsible for driving user adoption of the capabilities for the scope within Finance & Strategy business process and collaborate with the enterprise data governance program office to periodically publish KPI metrics, share learnings, celebrate successes, and coordinate escalations. You will act as a strong player-coach within Finance & Strategy business initiatives. As such, in addition to demonstrating domain expertise and commitment to driving continuous improvement in information architecture, data engineering, quality, and stewardship, this role must also have a strong blend technical & financial acumen of vision, pragmatism, business, and technology leadership skills, and the ability to effectively communicate, collaborate with and influence senior business and technical leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Data Governance, Quality, and Metadata Management Orchestration:

  • Capture data object and critical data element mappings against detailed business process steps within Finance & Strategy

  • Collaborate with the Data Architecture program office to produce a technology-agnostic logical data model which serves all aspects of Finance & Strategy while supporting enterprise-wide capability

  • Embed data governance, ownership and stewardship design into the Finance & Strategy business process

  • Facilitate adherence to data governance policies, and guide the management of data standards, and execution of data quality discipline across finance and strategy.

  • Ensure that Finance & Strategy metadata is captured, curated, and maintained overtime so it stays FAIR i.e. Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.

Leadership and Execution of Finance & Strategy Initiatives

  • Support the Global Director – Data & AI Stewardship and Delivery – Finance & Strategy in the leadership and execution of a fully integrated Data and AI stewardship strategy for Finance & Strategy processes.

  • Partner with the global and regional Network Leads with data and AI enabled opportunities to accelerate the process simplification and digitization journey.

  • Develop and execute templates and frameworks for the capture of complex data design and business process metadata, specifically within Finance (ie SAP)

  • Build a backlog to support data improvements, quick wins and prioritization for Finance & Strategy, to be reviewed by wider governance councils and Management forums as necessary

Data in support of AI/Analytics Deployment for Engage to Consume:

  • Analyse, document, optimize and orchestrate plans for fit-for-AI/Analytics data to enable the Finance & Strategy processes.

  • Work closely with the data architects, data modelers/engineers, data scientists and AI engineers to ensure data is mapped, tested and ready for analytics models.

  • Coordinate with the functional analytics team serving Finance& Strategy business process such as the One Demand team to continuously improve, monitor, and publish KPI metrics related to usage adoption of analytic and AI capabilities.

Continuous improvement and Innovation:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.

  • Adapt data stewardship processes to evolving needs within E2E Finance & Strategy.

  • Support change management and data literacy/training needs of broader finance / strategy organization.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven 5+ years of experience in large scale data management and business transformation.

  • Recent experience in a data management related role is preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in data analysis, data architecture, data management, and/or data quality, AI, and other related technical disciplines

  • Expertise in the Finance & Strategy functional data domains such as SAP, Anaplan, other financial planning solutions, etc.

  • Experience with data governance, catalog and quality tools such as Collibra, Informatica, SAP, and/or Microsoft Purview

  • Experience with Master Data Management, SAP MDG and core data objects such as Customer and Vendor data.
