As part of the UK Category Management Team, you will lead the development and execution of the category picture of success through strategic category plans, enabling Mars to build strong and sustainable partnerships for mutual, profitable and sustainable category growth of our pet nutrition segment. Reporting to the Category Manager Controller, through this role you will be delivering best in class category leadership, leading directly the relationship of mature customers/ less complex customer groups, by using a mix of market, shopper and customer insights.

  • You will have Category expertise in a similar role

  • Ideally from a retailer background

  • Additional Marketing and Sales experience would be preferred

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Deliver the category vision content, tailored to the retailer by developing a clear 3 year Category strategy aligned with the retailer

  • Understand and deploy vision to the shelf for the account, collaborating with Sales to set join targets using picture of success model

  • Work with objectivity both with our external and internal customers. Ensures Category growth and objectivity are at heart of all interactions with Customers

  • Deliver best in class Category Management by taking an objective total category perspective when providing market, consumer and shopper insights to customer/operational teams

  • Responsible for the Range Review process from inception through to implementation and delivery of post review analysis

  • Delivery of Mars innovation launches into the account/customer including creating category focused selling stories

  • Collaboration with insight colleagues to deliver depth account/customer understanding

  • Performance tracking and delivery of core KPIs compliance

  • Delivery of customer relationship, meetings and interaction vs the contact strategy

  • Develop good relationships with internal Mars Account teams and ensure internal alignment behind customer category strategy. Attend account team meetings and establishing yourself as an integral part of their team
