At Mars, we are setting bold goals: to serve 35 million pets and achieve $7 billion in net sales value by 2025. To achieve this, we are undertaking the largest transformation in our history, redefining how we operate and deliver value through the implementation of SAP S/4 and SAP HANA.

In 2021, we recognized the need for a major Enterprise Architecture transformation to address business challenges and drive value. This led to strategic programs focused on standardizing processes, ensuring governance, and enhancing efficiency across the organization.

As Automation Solutions Lead, you will guide and influence the automation of key business processes within the SAP ERP framework. Collaborating with global stakeholders and technical teams, you’ll lead workshops to define future processes, challenge assumptions, and identify opportunities to align business needs with system capabilities.

By driving automation strategies and partnering with technical experts, you’ll help optimize workflows, enhance user experiences, and deliver scalable, data-driven solutions that support Mars’ ambitious growth goals.

This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to join Mars’ most ambitious program yet, where your expertise will directly impact how we transform our systems, empower growth, and shape the future of pet nutrition.

What are we looking for?

  • You have a proven track record of successfully contributing to or leading automation projects, particularly in identifying opportunities and driving impactful solutions.

  • You thrive on collaboration, building strong relationships with stakeholders, and influencing without authority to align diverse perspectives.

  • You know how to guide effectively, ensuring every opportunity is explored and decisions on automation are clear and well thought out.

  • You excel at coordinating technical teams, even if you’re not the one executing the solutions yourself.

  • You are a hands-on geek at heart, someone who enjoys tinkering, coding, and experimenting with technology, even outside of work.

  • You stay ahead of the curve, constantly learning about emerging technologies like AI and exploring how they can create value.

  • You are familiar with SAP, understanding its potential for supporting automation in a business context.

  • You are fluent in English and French, enabling you to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Automation Design and Delivery: Define, implement, and document automation solutions for the SAP scope of the Petcare transformation program, ensuring alignment with scope, quality, and timelines.

  • Collaboration Across Functions: Partner with functional teams and the Digital Technology team to identify needs, define scope, and deliver automation solutions tailored to business processes.

  • Process Optimization: Lead workshops to optimize future processes, reduce gaps between business needs and system capabilities, and embed automation for improved efficiency and user experience.

  • Resource and Partner Management: Oversee System Integrator resources and collaborate with SAP and external experts to ensure effective and scalable automation solutions.

  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Scan industry trends, proactively propose automation ideas, and implement emerging technologies like chatbots and system interconnections.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate decision-making processes, align diverse stakeholders, and ensure seamless communication across regions and functions.

  • Testing and Integration: Collaborate with central testing and release teams to integrate automation solutions effectively into global operations.
