Role Purpose
The role is responsible for sourcing and developing the sourcing strategy for NAM Rail & Depot in México. The Procurement Manager will partipate in negotiating agreements with strategic suppliers, driving the relationships with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve a collaborative relationship that yields best in class cost and peformance to serve Maersk and it’s customers.
Key responsibilities
- Manage/participate procurement projects related to Rail & Depot
- Develop sourcing strategy for categories that are resourceful and cost – effective
- Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement
- Negotiation of contracts to support Maersk business needs & strategies
- Part of escalation chain for vendor performance issues
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders as part of a formal procurement process
- Responsible for building supplier relationships within the categories
- Work with legal department to make sure contracts and terms are favourable.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues and stakeholders regionally and globally
- Negotiate with vendors to deliver on cost savings and service level improvements
- Manage supplier performance and ensure contract obligations are met
Required qualification, experience & skills
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Excellent influencing and negotiating skills
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- MS office applications skills (MS Excel & Powerpoint)
- Strategic mindset and creativity
- Working knowledge of the industry and market conditions
- Strong understanding of procurement and negotiation techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Customer centricity and business acumen
