As a seasoned professional in LCL and FCL operations, you will lead a customer-dedicated LCL and FCL team servicing one of Maersk’s global key clients as their largest logistics service provider. You will be responsible to ensure timely execution of all orders by actively engaging and leading the team. You will manage resources within the team to run the LCL and FCL business efficiently in accordance to defined customer commitments. You will also build an engaged team with continuous training of all individuals’ skills and capabilities. You will lead the Export team on Maersk’s transformation journey through adoption of new ways of working with an emphasis on digital-driven habits internally and with the customer.
Responsible for:
Daily leadership of the Export LCL Delivery
• Assign customer and/or process responsibilities within the LCL and LCL Operations team
• Manage end-to-end LCL and FCL operations processes in accordance with standard operating procedures and committed customer SLA, and ensure file management compliance in accordance to internal controls.
• Engage in regular customer and vendor meetings with Account Team, Product and Procurement
• Serve as escalation point in case of Operational delays or failures, or non-conformity to standard operating procedures.
• Support with order handling and file management of customer orders during peak or vacation periods.
Be an active part of the Maersk account team
• Join regular customer meetings (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to review Maersk performance, and engage actively with the customer and Maersk account team on discussions to continuously optimize processes and performance.
• Support the strategic account planning, also with an aim to grow the customer relationship beyond LCL and FCL.
• Conduct regular KPI meeting with the Operational team and the LCL and FCL Operations Manager.
Develop and sustain a capable LCL Delivery organization
• Staff the LCL and FCL operations team and mobilizing onboarding to new colleagues.
• Conduct periodic capability assessments with all team members and arrange for relevant individual and / or team training on systems and processes.
• Drive business awareness and engagement across the team through periodic team meetings, daily planning calls, and consistent individual performance and development reviews.
Accountable for:
• Overall LCL + FCL operational performance for the account.
• Ensure required operational capabilities are in place in the team
• Manage cost and quality with vendors (3rd party)
• Drive standardization initiatives within LCL and FCL, and provide input on gaps in platforms, processes, automation etc. to the LCL SME.
Critical competencies:
• Strong background in LCL and FCL operations worked for a logistics service provider.
• Fluency in German and English
• Business and process-savvy mindset to quickly convert opportunities to business impacts
• Ability to lead, coach and motivate large teams, including leaders or others
• Ability to operate successfully in a complex environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders across several levels
• Prepare and execute a business plan to run a large operation with variable demand
• Lead an organization to prepare and respond with resilience to a business environment influenced by various external factors.
• Strategic thinking and execution; driving while balancing both a global strategic vision and a local efficiency focus.
