Internship at Maersk, Corporate Sustainability & ESG

Do you want to gain experience with sustainability and ESG in a global company with an ambition to be an ESG leader? A.P. Moller - Maersk is looking for a talented and highly motivated intern in the autumn semester, from July to December 2025, to join our Corporate Sustainability & ESG team. This is your chance to sharpen your skills and apply your theoretical knowledge to real-world global challenges.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of our Corporate Sustainability & ESG team, you will have a role to play in supporting Maersk’s strategic ambitions. As an intern, you will gain a unique understanding in ESG strategy, governance and integration in a global company, and you will work with team members and support the business on a broad range of tasks, including:

  • Desk research and analysis on sustainability issues, regulatory developments and trends and their relevance for Maersk – with a particular focus on human rights and environment (biodiversity/nature) – to inform materiality assessment, strategic decisions and preparations for EU CSDDD requirements
  • Supporting project team preparations for Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive implementation, including risk mapping, gap assessments and stakeholder engagement
  • Developing communications materials on sustainability for internal and external use, including updating the maersk.com sustainability webpages and supporting drafting human rights due diligence reporting, including the annual modern slavery statement
  • Supporting internal engagement and capacity building on sustainability & ESG (through e.g. webinars, trainings and events)
  • Supporting on ad hoc tasks with the potential to embark on special projects with the autonomy to steer your own course.

Who We're Searching For

We are looking for a team member who is well oriented and engaged on the corporate sustainability and ESG agenda. You will likely have excellent research and analytical skills, be a structured project manager and proficient in composing written materials such as memos, reports and presentations. Sustainability/ESG is part of your curriculum, and experience from extracurricular/voluntary activities will be regarded as an asset. Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, an international perspective, and fluency in English are essential. Bring your ambition and eagerness to learn, and let's make a lasting impact together. Join us for a full-time (37-hour week) adventure at our Copenhagen headquarters and leave your mark on the global stage. The internship is unpaid.
