Job Description

Ki is the biggest global insurance tech company you’ve never heard of, unless you’ve been looking to insure a satellite, wind farm or music festival recently.

We launched in 2021 on the back of a fundraise that delivered $500m of investment, making us one the largest fintech start-ups that year. Our investors were excited about the fact we were revolutionising the way a 333-year-old industry was working. Together with partners at Google and UCL we developed Ki, a platform that helps insurance brokers cover risks in a fast and frictionless way. With over $400m of gross written premium in 2021, we have continued to rapidly scale, growing to $834m in 2022. We’re continuing to lead the charge on the digitisation of this market and that’s where you come in - we need more excellent minds to work with us to realise this goal and create more opportunities. If helping us transform a multi-billion global industry sounds exciting to you, read on.

We are looking for an experienced Head of Product, Digital Risk to lead Ki’s squads that focus on developing our pioneering algorithmic underwriting capabilities. You will work closely with a cross-functional team, including data scientists and algorithm engineers, to shape our future direction for the technology and capabilities that assess risk and manage our portfolios – both of which are critical to Ki’s long-term success.

Your focus will be on:

Strategic direction and innovation

- Close collaboration with Algorithmic Underwriting leaders to shape and articulate the squads’ remit and longer-term strategic direction for our risk decisioning capabilities
- Working with members of Ki’s Senior Leadership team to assess the potential of promising new use cases and revenue models and determine what would be required in terms of risk decisioning capabilities, resources and time to fully realise this potential

Product discovery and business impact

- Being an evangelist for the squads working on our future risk decisioning capabilities, ensuring the broader business understands how the squads impact business performance
- Leading the product discovery process, ensuring squads have a deep understanding of impactful problems to solve and can articulate trade-offs
- Ensuring that squads get a balance between providing capabilities that can drive near-term business impact and longer-term strategic initiatives

Product team development

- Work with other product leaders on developing a supportive, a high-performance product culture
- Leading, mentoring and coaching product managers, goal setting, providing feedback and facilitating professional development

Our culture:

Inclusion & Diversity is at the heart of our business at Ki. We recognise that diversity in age, race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical ability, thought and social background bring richness to our working environment. No matter who you are, where you’re from, how you think, or who you love, we believe you should be you.

You’ll get a highly competitive remuneration and benefits package. This is kept under constant review to make sure it stays relevant. We understand the power of saying thank you and take time to acknowledge and reward extraordinary effort by teams or individuals.
